24.01.2022 This lovely piece of finishing was found by one of our inspectors at PCI. and whilst it looks untidy the true defect lies beneath. This was an Expansion Joint that had been missed during construction and obviously noted at some point. Rather than reconstructing this section of brickwork with an expansion joint, this builder has used a grinder to cut in a fake Expansion Joint that only ran 20mm deep. They then filled it with sealant to disguise and they couldn't even get that right with small sections of brickwork needing to be stuck with silicone back in to place after the grinder must have gone astray in protest as to its miss use.

Justin, our newest team member is a born and raised Tassie boy who has been on site since he was old enough to do so. Justin brings 35 years of construction experience to the Team and will be expanding our business in to Tasmania. ... While Justin has been honing his craft up here in Sydney he has demonstrated a great enthusiasm for the role that fits with our mantra of Old School Service absolutely Perfectly. 18.01.2022 When the Bricklayer starts swearing because his lintel is too short and he doesn't want to stop laying those sweet bricks and wait for a correct length one. Then the Labourer pipes up, "No problems, I have a welder in the ute". The Bricklayer responds, "sure but do you know how to use it?" The Labourer replies "No but I have watched a Video on YouTube once". That's good enough for me replies the Brickie"........

11.01.2022 Inspection of the week. This week we had the pleasure of inspecting this lovely 4 bed 3 Bath Luxury built home in the coveted Harrington Grove.

10.01.2022 It's coming to that time of year again, which we here at SWPI call "PCI season". This is the time of year when builders like to hand over as many houses prior to Christmas as possible. While this is great if you want to be in your new home for Christmas, with comments such as "Well if you want to be in by Christmas this is the best we can do" being thrown around, it can also come at a cost of a rushed finished product. You home is then handed over to you relying on you to i...dentify defects and deal with a builders warranty department to get rectified throughout the 90 day defect liability period. If you want to avoid being handed a Christmas present that just keeps on giving (not in a good way) get in touch with us and book a Practical Completion Inspection where our team of Independent inspectors will give your home a thorough once over for defects and provide you with a comprehensive written and photographic report to take back to your builder to ensure your home is handed over ready for Christmas in the completed state you would expect.

For those that are not familiar with framing, this is a structural floor joist adjacent to a stairwell.
