25.01.2022 The day we made HISTORY. 2020 GCPL Premiers 2020 GCPL Grand Final Champions Undefeated in FFA Cup preliminary stages... 1st GCPL team since 1982 to go through the season and finals series undefeated. 1st time since 2002 that Surfers Paradise have won the coveted 'double'. Video highlights (best viewed in HD) from the Grand Final of the ASN Gold Coast Premier League between 2020 Premiers Surfers Paradise Apollo Soccer Club and Runners Up Palm Beach Soccer Club on 14/11/20. With neither team having beaten the other during the season, it was always going to be a tough battle and go down to the wire - and that it did! In front of a record crowd in attendance, Palm Beach opened the scoring in the 20th minute through captain Dan Smith, and it remained 1-0 until the the league's Golden Boot Teddy Watson scored the equaliser for Surfers Paradise in the 2nd half. Thanks to the heroics of the respective goalkeepers, the score was level at Full Time and pushed both teams into the only Extra Time period to be played on the Gold Coast this season. Surfers Paradise Apollo ran away with the game courtesy of a brace to Tomoki Asakawa in either half of Extra Time to seal with the win. WHAT. A. YEAR.

22.01.2022 TOMORROW A new generation of Surfers Paradise Apollo players will be born as we hold our first information and training session for our new u/18 JPL squad for the 2021 season. Training will be held on Monday and Wednesday nights, and games will be predominantly played on Friday nights. There will also be an opportunity for extra training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday nights with our Premier League & Reserve Grade squads under the guidance of head coach Alex Morrison. 22.01.2022 HOLIDAY CLINIC THIS WEEK AT SPASC 14 - 15 JAN Our clinics are available to players of all ages & abilities.... What will your child learn at the clinics? Over the course of the clinic, our coaches will perform a variety of technical sessions to help improve individual skill & technique. Each day will also include a number of small sided matches ranging from 2v2’s through to 7v7’s. Throughout the clinic players will participate in a number of team building activities to encourage the development of social skills and interacting with new friends. 18.01.2022 CAPTAIN RETURNS for 2021 In what may come as no surprise to many, Club Captain Bruno Rodriguez has re-signed at Surfers Paradise Apollo Soccer Club for the 2021 Season. After leading Surfers Apollo undefeated to the GCPL Premiership and Grand Final Champions and securing the coveted 'double' in 2020, Bruno is looking forward to once again helping the boys challenge for the silverware in 2021. On behalf of Surfers Paradise Apollo Soccer Club, the players, coaching staff, and the loyal supporters, we'd like to welcome back Club Caption Bruno Rodriguez for 2021 in what will be his 9th year wearing the blue & white!

16.01.2022 Video highlights (best viewed in HD) of the GCPL Reserve Grade Grand Final held at The Bell between 2020 Premiers Palm Beach Soccer Club and Runners Up Burleigh Heads Football Club. Despite Palmy having the majority of chances, Burleigh capitalised when it mattered and won 2-0 to become 2020 Grand Final Champions. A brilliant performance in goals by Burleigh's Christian Deans kept Palmy scoreless and earned himself the Man of the Match award. Congratulations to both teams on making this year's Grand Final. 16.01.2022 SURFERS PARADISE APOLLO SC JUNIOR COME & TRY MORNING Saturday 23 January... 9am - 10.15am We are inviting all Junior players to attend our FREE come & try session at SPASC on Saturday 23 January. Our professional coaches will provide some demo sessions and give players a taste of what will be on offer for the 2021 Soccer season at SPASC. Our club programs are the next stage of our 'Progress Through Soccer' pathway and offer players professional coaching 2-3 times per week and on game days. The teams will compete in the local GC competition against other local clubs. All abilities are welcome. No registration required, just show up & play We will also have information on hand on how to register to play for SPASC in the 2021 Soccer season.

Originally hailing from sunny Glasgow (Scotland), Andy moved to the Gold Coast 3 years ago and in 2020 played First Grade & Reserves for Southport Soccer Club. Surfers Paradise Apollo Soccer Club has had very strong Reserve Grade sides in the past few years and Andy is aiming to continue that tradition next year - "I want to play good, attractive football and have a great blend of youth and experience". Welcome Andy to Surfers Paradise Apollo Soccer Club!

15.01.2022 A man who needs no introduction and a family that is synonymous with Gold Coast Football - David Benigno has joined the coaching staff at Surfers Paradise Apollo Soccer Club for the 2021 Season as the U/18 Junior Premier League (JPL) Coach. Having coached at multiple levels and clubs on the Gold Coast, Dave is no stranger to success, previously coaching Surfers Paradise Apollo to Gold Coast Premier League Grand Final Champions in 2016 as well as to Round 32 of the (national)... FFA Cup amongst his many other notable achievements. "With the experience of Alex Morrison , myself and Andy Robertson, not to mention the other coaching support staff, the u/18s should start their transitioning to senior Reserve Grade and Premier League in no time. Concentrating on this next stepping stone will not only strengthen the backbone of the club, but also strengthen the players filtering in" he said of the year ahead. Dave continued "I'm excited for the boys with such a transitional year ahead of them. We must continue to instil the confidence and consistency into their game so they can reach their maximum potential. It's all about the enjoyment in the end." TRIALS for Dave's U/18 JPL squad will continue this Wednesday 9th December at 5pm at Alabaster Sports Complex (Carrara) - opposite Metricon Stadium. 09.01.2022 To wrap up 2020 we would just like to congratulate our Head Coach Alex Morrison for being awarded the top coaching honour in the Gold Coast Premier League as 2020 FGC Coach of the Year. This award recognises his achievements during the 2020 season, having guided Surfers Paradise Apollo Soccer Club to our first GCPL Premiership since 2002, becoming Grand Final Champions and going through the season undefeated.
