Emma is an incredibly talented chef who was an integral part of Sparkke at the Whitmore's journey as she oversaw the opening of our award-winning restaurant 'fare', led the kitchen team through Covid with an exclusive takeaway menu and produce boxes and put her spin on our pub menu with influences from across the... world. 09.01.2022 Guess what, it’s a sell out! We’ve pre-sold all the kegs of @sparkkechange’s first official collab our Hazy IPA with Shapeshifter Brewing Company to some of our favourite pubs across town and, don’t worry, you’ll be able to enjoy this Hazy at the Whitmore. Given it’s a limited-edition brew, you’ll want to head down to our pub soon to enjoy this Hazy, which we’ve appropriately called, Pina Collaba. Why Pina Collaba? Well, with this collab brew’s dominant aromatic notes of... pineapple, coconut, summer stone fruit and vanilla, you’d almost mistake this Hazy IPA for a Pina Colada. Almost, as our Hazy isn’t as sweet as your auntie’s favourite cocktail from the 70s. It’s also juicier and is, of course, blissfully delicious. The Pina Collaba’s deep golden hue is reminiscent of a hazy summer sunset and the double dry-hopping with Citra and Kohatu gives dominant notes of pineapple and tropical flavours associated with the style. Gloriously juicy, it’s restrained in bitterness while its creamy mouthfeel balances out the brew nicely. You can thank rolled oats and a higher mash temp for its body while the addition of Verdant IPA yeast expresses the vanilla and apricot. The beer is topped off nicely with Sabro hops to give this juicy, big pineapple IPA a toasted coconut finish. Now you know what we mean when we say Pina Colada. Enjoy this when the weather warms up at our pub on Whitmore Square.
