23.01.2022 This is a neat little activity for a ‘brain break.’ When children have been concentrating hard or attempting tasks with a high cognitive load, an opportunity rest their minds can be energising and help them to concentrate for a little longer. @spark_therapyy

18.01.2022 This is a cute little fine motor activity. Kids can practice cutting along straight lines to make worms/snakes/squirmies that can then be woven into a cardboard frame. #finemotorskills #occupationaltherapyforchildren #occupationaltherapyforkids

17.01.2022 Blowing bubbles through a wash cloth secured to the end of a bottle creates a pretty cool bubble snake. This is a great activity for self-regulation (taking deep breaths and exhaling) and it is so much fun!

13.01.2022 We had a great time mixing cornflour with water today! A good activity for ‘clean’ messy play during a time of so much hand washing!

12.01.2022 New welcome mat got a workout today with little and big people coming and going.

11.01.2022 A friendly ghost for Halloween This activity moves kids on from cutting along straight lines to cutting along curved lines. #occupationaltherapyforkids #occupationaltherapyforchildren #finemotorskills

10.01.2022 These beautiful sunrise pictures were made so easily with painters tape and a small colour palette. So simple yet so effective! This is a great activity to promote engagement and social skills (sharing, turn taking, complimenting and waiting).

07.01.2022 New sign out the front of my therapy room on Beaufort street

07.01.2022 Using the SOS approach to picky eating is a fun was to encourage children to tolerate food exploration, smelling food, touching food to lips/teeth and ultimately biting, chewing and swallowing

06.01.2022 I seeing little people taking flight in the Spark Therapy gym

06.01.2022 The gym is sparkling after so many antiseptic wipes happening throughout the day extra clean and hygienic, ready for therapy!

03.01.2022 We used the microwave to press flowers this afternoon. It is much quicker than the traditional method and the petals seem to stay vibrant. We used a brick to press the flowers in between two layers of paper towel and then put the flowers (and brick ) in the microwave. Microwave for 90 seconds but check after each 30 second interval to make sure nothing is going to set on fire. We then carefully placed the flowers in between 2 pieces of glass (buy 2 cheap frames and use one for the extra piece of glass). Voila
