21.01.2022 We received this adorable pic from an In-home speaker builder. He's finished the glue up process and his buddy looks like he's ready for some action. He's got a few more steps to go before the speakers can play. Looking forward to see if he adds stain or decides to keep the wood natural. To stain or not to stain, that is the question

20.01.2022 Father and son team are in the process of building a pair of speakers together. Building speakers deepens one connection with music and connects people through the process of collaboration.

16.01.2022 Ryan has the sickest man cave.

16.01.2022 Applying insulation into a speaker cabinet is a crucial part of how the speaker sounds. Adding insulation does a number of things. Notably, it absorbs sound that is played into the cabinet and makes sure that unwanted sound does not leave the speaker cabinet. The other benefit is not so obvious, the insulation makes a quasi increase in the cabinet volume. This allows a deeper note of bass to be achieved. However, the right amount of insulation is key, not too much not too little. And how do know when enough is enough? Well testing the electrical impedance response will show were the bass note is tuned too. This is something we look at in the course. Pretty interesting eh?

16.01.2022 Concentration hat on! One of my favourite things about building my own speakers is being immersed in the process.

15.01.2022 The in-home speaker building course is ALMOST there. Another 5 videos to go. it's super fun following the students build their own speakers;, its also cool to see the guys in Melbourne have a fun project to do in lockdown. Here is episode 10, where we talk about the GOLD plated terminals.

14.01.2022 The in-home course speaker kit has been designed for anyone to build their own pair of hi-fi speakers at home any time. You receive a box with all material and tools and guidance in form of videos and an eBook. Check out website for more information

12.01.2022 Students of course 6 did super well making their speaker cabinets. Can't wait for the next session where we'll sand the cabinets and apply the varnish!

11.01.2022 The bold and black edition of the premium speakers. What do you think?

08.01.2022 This animation shows some pretty cool British engineering. Great speakers but far more expensive than building your own.

05.01.2022 I think a lot of speaker builders dream of building speakers out of solid timber. I always have. But it's a real trick to get right as solid timber is prone to cracking - hardly ideal. To solve that problem we've made composite panels made from solid timber glued to plywood. The end result is the looks of solid timber but the durability of plywood. ... The wood seen here is Alder, grown in North America.

02.01.2022 Who else loves designing their speakers with CAD? I love how designs can be rendered to show the proportions and style before going through the process of building the speaker.
