25.01.2022 Congratulations to Bec and Mike on the birth of Philippa Grace born on 07.04.2020. We are hyper-excited to hear of Pip's safe arrival and Ollie's graduation to "big brother" but also VERY sad we cannot have our "aunty" cuddles until all our quarantining is over. We did check if there were any feeding difficulties so we could go "consult" but no luck!! Pip is a perfect specimen of great health and good skills!! Yay!!

22.01.2022 It's been a wild week in SLSP as we all dressed up for our ANIMAL theme . Thanks to everyone who brought their pets along to their speech session, or who dressed up as an animal, or brought a stuffed animal toy to show us. We saw loads of gorgeous dogs, cats, owls, giraffes, butterflies, lions, and elephants (some were real, some were dressed-up you can figure out which was which!). We are soon going to be transitioning to face to face sessions again in coming weeks. Current clients, please keep an eye on your email for more information in the transition phase. Natasha Munns, wake up!!!

20.01.2022 We may well have all gone a little nutty in an online season but we may as well share it around!! Crazy hair week has been awesome!! Thanks to all the mums and dads who have got on board so far. Here's some inspo for you!!

20.01.2022 A great day at SLSP today. Bec has a birthday. Happy birthday, Bec!! We love that you are part of the Speak Life team. Your awesomeness is next level. And Bella has been rocking up to the office at SLSP for 8 years!! Wow, Bella. Thanks for countless copies, artic cards, stocktakes, packing lists, scanning, cutting, colouring, making resources that we all love. Bella's favourite saying is "too easy" at every request. We love you, Bella!!!

20.01.2022 What a great idea!

17.01.2022 And this from our lovely Natasha Munns: I just want to give a shout out to all the parents out there, whether you think you’ve got it together or not ... I was running a Telehealth therapy session today and the mum at the other end of my screen was simultaneously breastfeeding her toddler, holding the iPad up, setting up a card game on the floor for her four year old and listening to the instructions I was giving her. While wearing a unicorn horn headband and a unicorn tail. WHAT A LEGEND. Parents...you are doing an amazing job!!

14.01.2022 It's great seeing the confidence of our little people grow as they build better communication skills. Happy Speech Pathology Week!!

14.01.2022 Sorry for the silence, Everyone! It's been super crazy at SLSP these past weeks! To ensure the safety of all our wonderful SLSP staff and also all our little (and bigger) friends, we are heading into online learning this week. At this stage, we are likely to be continuing with this model well into Term 2 but, as we have said a hundred times lately, we will just "wait and see". We are reassessing the situation on a weekly basis. Watch this space for some super duper fun ideas we have for our online sessions. It will be a blast!

13.01.2022 We can never let an opportunity slip past to honour and be in awe of the children and adults we know who have Autism. Our heart and desire to help discover and build the amazing and unique abilities in these glorious humans never fades. We honour the Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Carers, Teachers/Teacher Aides, and Allied Health Colleagues who have or work with them. They too are awe-inspiring. Happy World Autism Day!!

10.01.2022 It's birthday season at Speak Life SP. Bella had a birthday yesterday and Natasha has a birthday today!! Happy birthday, Ladies! You are just so appreciated and loved by us all. And Speak Life SP is almost two as well! Just seems like yesterday that we decided to be less about our names and more about our message. And we love to speak life and hope over our many precious little people while helping them build great communication skills. Thank you to the many amazing mums and dads and carers who join with us in sometimes long and challenging journeys. We are in awe of you all.

10.01.2022 Celebrating 70 years of Speech Pathology Australia this week. I have been a Speech Pathologist for decades and have only just this past month discovered I share a birthday with my professional association! The Association is waaaaaay older than I am of course!!!

05.01.2022 Yesterday Dec 3rd was International Day of People with Disability. We know lots of little people who, with their families, live through the challenges of disability in their communication, their bodies and their minds every single day. It is no easy journey but nothing is taken for granted either. These precious ones help us to celebrate the small things as great things!! They inspire us!!

04.01.2022 News update: Speech sessions are running as usual for now. Information will soon go out to those families in current programs regarding possible alternatives in the event our hospital or school sites need to close. Infection control measures continue to be utilised during and between sessions. We are constantly monitoring the situation and heeding advice from the health department. Watch this space!
