09.01.2022 Theres a reason your child wants to read the same book over and over again (3 minute read). There are benefits of reading storybooks at bedtime for promoting... vocabulary, early literacy skills, and a good relationship with your child. But the experts havent been in your home, and your child requests the same book every single night, sometimes multiple times a night. You both know all the words off by heart! Are there benefits to this repetition? #BofY2018 #SpeakUp4CommRights #reading #books #literacy See more

01.01.2022 October 19 is International Developmental Language Disorder Awareness Day. The theme in 2018 is the ABCs of DLD. The day aims to encourage you to ASSESS your... understanding, BUILD your knowledge and CREATE awareness of DLD. DLD is the new term to replace Specific Language Impairment (SLI). DLD is diagnosed when children fail to acquire their own language for no obvious reason. This results in children who have difficulty understanding what people say to them, and struggle to articulate their ideas and feelings. Recent research has shown that, on average, two children in every class of 30 will experience DLD severe enough to hinder academic progress. DLD is often a hidden condition. #DLDABC #devlangdis #SpeakUp4CommRights
