If you have a dental issue please contact the practice and we will provide help where possible. 20.01.2022 Some great advice from the Australian Dental Association for those getting chocolate goodies from the Easter bunny this weekend Have a safe and happy Easter everyone!

20.01.2022 Today, Dr Payal shares some techniques to relieve jaw and neck pain due to teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism). Remember for those that already wear a night guard, its important to stick to routine and protect your teeth for night time bruxism.

17.01.2022 Today's topic: SUGAR! We all love a little treat whether it's a piece of chocolate or that Instagram worthy cupcake...but drinks have sugar that adds up too. We suggest saving those treats for the weekend and stick to water during the week!

17.01.2022 Babies and Toddlers Oral Care Baby teeth (sometimes called deciduous, primary or milk teeth) are important for children to: eat well speak well... have a healthy smile To ensure your child has the best chance of staying decay free, follow these tips: 1. Follow a nutritious diet, choose healthy snacks such as fruit, vegetables, plain yoghurt and cheese 2. Avoid prolonged or frequent suckling beyond nutritional needs 3. Avoid putting a child to bed with a bottle containing anything other than water 4. Plain tap water is the best drink 5. Avoid dipping a child´s dummy in any foods or liquids 6. Begin cleaning a child´s teeth as soon as the teeth appear in the mouth. Start a twice daily tooth brushing routine as soon as possible 7. Look for early signs of tooth decay in your child´s mouth 8. Visit your dental professional for a check-up around the time of your child´s first birthday. Your baby’s first dentist visit Generally-speaking, it’s time for your baby to see the dentist for the first time when their first tooth becomes visible or when they reach 12 months of age whichever comes first. While you might think it’s not necessary to book an appointment until your baby has a full set of teeth, which usually takes place by the age of 3, the earlier your child visits the dentist the better. Usually, your child’s first visit to the dentist will involve discussions about: Teething Brushing techniques Bite (how your children’s teeth come together) Habits such as thumb sucking The risk of decay and how to prevent it Nutritional advice Always be positive about these visits, never use the dentist as a deterrent for bad behaviour such as not brushing teeth, and remember that our team is well-trained in dealing with babies and young children. 08.01.2022 Under the new Emergency Management Direction we will be asking all our patients, staff and visitors to wear a single use surgical mask (mask will only be removed by patient while dental treatment in performed). 07.01.2022 Sharing this important post from SA Health:

06.01.2022 Brushing 101 to make the most out of your 2 minutes, 2 times a day Bonus tip: For anyone who struggles to hold a toothbrush, a foam cover can be added to the handle to make it longer and easier to grasp (a bit like a bicycle handlebar grip).

04.01.2022 Handy hint: Look out for food acid numbers on labels. Erosion affects tooth enamel and can lead to increased sensitivity, higher risk of decay and even affect the way you bite and chew.

03.01.2022 Following the announcements made this afternoon by the South Australian Premier, we will be operating under Level 5 restrictions: No routine dental treatment should be provided. Therefore Special Care Dental will be closed from Thursday 19th to Tuesday 24th. We are sorry for any inconvenience, we will be contacting patients to reschedule appointments.... Our thoughts are with all South Australians at this difficult time and we look forward to serving you again when it is safe to do so. Lets do our part and and stop the spread!

01.01.2022 Ever wondered what on earth is actually happening during your check up?? Dr Payal explains what a check up is actually for and how it helps us to help you! We also think she also really missed some of her patients and just wants a catch up...
