19.01.2022 A common challenge for children with autism is feeding issues. Feeding issues can be particularly problematic when behavioural difficulties occur, if the partic...ular food is not made available and can escalate into self-injury behaviour and/or severe health problems. We are very pleased to have Dr. Jose Molina from Irabina speak at the Expo on this issue, where he will provide strategies so that meal times can be stress free and eventually enjoyable. Click the url for the full Speakers Program and for more details about Dr. Molinas talk which we are sure will be very helpful for many... http://www.autismhealthandwellbeingexpo.com/speakers See more

10.01.2022 An absolutely amazing Saturday at Jeanette Purkiss presentation Inside the mind of a student with autism. Jeanette shared her experiences from when she atten...ded primary and secondary school so educators, carers and everyone else in the room gained a real insight on how to support students on the spectrum. Thank you Jeanette and thanks must also go to Colleen at Thornbury SPAN house for letting us use the venue at no charge. Over $1400 was raised which will go directly into the associations employment service for people with autism and running Expos. If you missed out on a ticket, watch this space. Jeanette will be back on November 11th doing the same talk, same place and well announce when tickets go on sale from here :) See more

05.01.2022 I love this! I have seen something similar used for alternative seating! I have had several teachers tell me that this can really be a calming space for certain... students. You can check out other flexible seating ideas here: http://www.create-abilities.com//alternative-seating-in-th **I found out who's picture this is! You can follow here on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/mrsbarnesbunch/ . I'm not sure the size tubs she used, but I do know that she said she cut them with kitchen shears and that the edges were not rough or sharp for her.**

01.01.2022 During the October #Reiki Level One course one participant said: "Wouldn't it be wonderful if Reiki was taught in schools!". A thought many who have learnt Rei...ki share. I enjoyed reading how these students are benefitting from meditation and breakwork (also taught in Reiki courses) in their after school program: ...the award-winning program empowers youth with the skills for peaceful conflict resolution, improved focus and concentration, greater control and awareness of thoughts and emotions, improved self-regulation, anger management and stress reduction, Have a lovely day. Reiki light, Sarah
