25.01.2022 A new client approached us to certify his Atlas Framed ICV Harley Davidson. Most of the work had already been done by the owner. Spectre will be assisting the project with brake testing, noise testing and certifying the vehicle to LO7 Individually Constructed Motorcycle requirements. If you have a project and need some help deciphering the requirements of the codes of practice we are happy to be of assistance.

21.01.2022 There's a lot of talk about vehicle lifts in the media at the moment. We can certify LS9 & LS10 under the Qld Modification Code of Practice. There are a few conditions under the code that are required. Up to a maximum 50mm suspension lift, 50mm body lift and 50mm larger tyres for a total of 125mm of lift. There is no flexibility as to how the lift is distributed. If the vehicle comes with electronic stability control the vehicle cannot be certified under this code unless the ...vehicle manufacturer is willing to approve it or the stability control system can be tested. The limits for what can be done without being certified are 75mm for vehicles without stability control or 50mm for vehicles with stability control. If you are planning modifications to your vehicle and have questions please contact us for more information or to make a booking. More information can be found at: https://www.tmr.qld.gov.au//Vehicle-standards-/QCOPv3.pdf

14.01.2022 Planning to load up the caravan and go away this holiday season? Call Spectre Vehicle Engineering for a load assessment and weigh. 9/10 times we can rerate your caravan on the spot! We also provide you with advice in relation to modifications that may need to be made. Don't risk the fine, contact us before your next getaway.

09.01.2022 This caravan when weighed had a tare mass that was significantly higher than the original tare mass on the manufacturers plate. This made it difficult for the owner to have a reasonable payload with the water tanks filled. Spectre assessed the chassis, suspension, brakes and tyres and were then able to rerate the gross trailer mass and aggregate trailer mass under the LS12 Section of the Qld Code of Practice. Please contact us for issues with caravan weights.
