25.01.2022 Howdy speculators! here’s a buzz word alert: emotional contagion Feel free to drop it into conversations and look like a smarty pants. Or be worried. Read the article and use the word. http://www.pnas.org/content/pnas/111/24/8788.full.pdf

21.01.2022 In 2016, the Speculative History Labs will be investigating the life and work of Wayne Sartre, a little known council grader driver for the Wasted Lakes Shire Council in outback Australia. There has long been speculation that he is (or was) the son who was the consequence of a single night of passion between a famous French philosopher and a local indigenous woman Monsieur Sartre always referred to as La Shazza Grande. This Sartre fellow was in Australia having made a mista...ke in booking a flight to Austria. He tried to do the right thing in an offhand French sort of way - sent the kid a few books and tossed the mum a few francs now and then. It is also speculated that he was afraid of La Shazza, whom he described as having a mind of terrible and inexorable beauty. More will be revealed about Wayne S’s activities in the future. In the meantime here’s one of the many road signs he erected as part of what he saw as his job. See more
