25.01.2022 There is nothing more exciting as a paediatric speechie than new resources! The wait for our new puzzle roads felt sooo long! Now our minds are buzzing with all the amazing things we can teach using them pretend play, verbs, turn taking, prepositions of place..I even think I could get some literacy learning in there! We might have to organise a booking system for them...I feel like all the clinicians are going to want them for every session. (Note to self: model turn taking for staff at next staff meeting )

25.01.2022 Happy Iso Birthday Georgia! Your Speech Tree Family

23.01.2022 We’re all prepared and excited as each of our school readiness groups return this week! We can’t wait to see you all

23.01.2022 Little pup had a check up today - Thanks Dr D! Pretend play

21.01.2022 I was working with a student yesterday and said to them "What do you think you need to add to this sentence to finish it off?" The student responds "An emoji?" Best answer ever. Can we please start adding emojis to random documents, reports, essays, recounts. I like the way this kid thinks. She's going places! P.s I was actually going for a full stop!

20.01.2022 Here's an inside look at what it's like to live with a paediatric speechie - leaves drying in the kitchen, pebbles being washed in the bathroom sink...so much fun! Try explaining to Alfie that the sticks in the kitchen aren't for him though...that's one confused puppy!Happy Sunday all - is there any nature play on the cards for you today?

20.01.2022 Just a little Monday morning PSA

18.01.2022 The first day of spring and we made the most of it with lots of outdoor games! We practiced reading CVC words by making sure we gave the right 'receipts' for each cubby shop purchase! So much fun!

17.01.2022 Happy Iso Birthday Georgia! Your Speech Tree Family

12.01.2022 So much flexibility. This term in one of our social groups the guys were meant to be creating a board game together - COVID-19 had other plans. Luckily the group rallied and we have made it to the prototype stage. Here we are playing JERM over zoom. Our hope is that next term will allow us to be face to face again so that we can produce the final wooden version of our game! I am so proud of how everyone is working together and relying so much on verbal explanation whilst maintaining a shared vision. Amazing! #ProudSpeechieMoment ~Frances

11.01.2022 Our teen social group do love a gadget! Precision cut pieces for our board game 'JERM'! Amazing team work whilst dealing with lots of trial and error -

10.01.2022 School visits look a little different this term...but still feels so much more normal! It's so lovely to see my Speech Tree friends again!

09.01.2022 A bit late, I know, but this FREE series about executive functioning includes some of the greatest minds we have working in the field. It starts today so check it out! https://executivefunctionsummit.com/

09.01.2022 Well this absolutely made my day! I can't wait to get back to work and see all my little (and not so little) buddies!

08.01.2022 What a beautiful sunny morning for our many of kids to return to school. Our admin girls, Celeste and Sam, each had preppies start back at school today and there were some nervous little people. Celeste sent took this picture of the beautiful welcome back at Bimbadeen Heights Primary School. There were many words of encouragement to be heard at the gate this morning - "You've got this!" and "I know you can do it!" So proud of all the little people in our lives. How did all your kids go this morning?

07.01.2022 COVID-19 lockdown has meant learning many new skills - for me it meant learning to read upside down (whilst giving real time spelling and letter formation feedback!). What have you learnt this lockdown?

07.01.2022 So most of you who know me know that I am not a particularly emotional person - but this video made me feel so proud of the work speechies do. We are so lucky to have such an amazing team of speechies and AHA's at The Speech Tree. I'm so glad each one of my team followed their calling to help our young people, and their families, be heard https://www.facebook.com/100047265463985/posts/204142247837956/

07.01.2022 So much fun to be had - I hope you're all ready for playground spam!!

06.01.2022 The playground is coming along beautifully - one of our team tested the new swing set today. Does anyone recognise these Speech Tree feet? Weeeeeee! Love your work Native Revival

06.01.2022 The best way to socially distance at lunch!

05.01.2022 My team are AMAZING! With rennovations starting in a few days I was all set to pack up the clinic, clear out the shed, empty my storeroom (my clients will know what task that little room would have been!) when suddenly my appendix had another idea. Off for emergency surgery I went with my spectacular practice manager saying "Leave it to me. We've got this". I can't believe what they have achieved today! So to my AMAZING team, Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so very lucky to have my Speech Tree Family ~Frances

01.01.2022 Good to see numbers are still low in Yarra Ranges, hopefully this new directive to wear masks will help keep them that way! Keep up the good work neighbours
