24.01.2022 DIVINE VESSEL This is what the doll the Divine Vessel spoke to me as I was making her. Our womb is never really empty, full of creativity, full of relationships that are plump for nurturing, or passion or projection. Waiting to birth into the world whatever we have incubated.... For some of us we empty our vessel through the flow of our rich red earth blood, what does that blood hold? What depth of our being, what instinctual force does that blood contain? What body intelligence does it store? Then it is released, bled onto the earth so our dear mother hears our monthly story, informed, she understands how she may hold and nourish you for the coming month or so. The beauty and wonder of our cycle is that, each phase holds the greatest potential in guiding us on how to walk, live our spiritual path. Ask yourself.. Do I dance with the newness of spring as you emerge from the darkness of winter? (pre-ovulation) Do I stand strong and present in the world at mid summer? (ovulation) Do I cross the veils of the other-worlds? Do I cut away what no longer serves me? (pre-menstruation) And do I surrender myself, do I dream deeply, rest well and nourish myself in the depths of winter? (menstruation) Then and only then releasing your imprint of who you have been in that month. Giving over and preparing yourself for the building of who you are in the month to come. The doll Divine Vessel stands with the colours red and gold, red for all womens blood mysteries and gold for the inner masculine that guides our action of our inner dreaming in the outer world, a perfect partnership. The moon attends to her vessel and sliding the brass moon aside a hollow in her very being sits, cushioned with soft fibers like a nest, waiting. She looks to the heavens our father for divine inspiration and guidance knowing that Spirit will pulsate throughout her being. The blood that moves throughout her body, that pulsates with the will of Spirit, will come to rest in her divine vessel. The vital alive blood is then birthed onto the Earth our mother A divine union through a divine vessel! The Sun and Moon Dancing! 23.01.2022 From Found Objects to Spirit Doll Whenever I hold a Spirit Doll Workshop I am always humbled by the deep soul work from the doll makers. Each participant willingly gives a part of themselves in the making and it is always an honour to witness the birthing of their unique and fascinating dolls. I am invariably inspired after the workshop and so it is never a surprise, and yet it is, that something in me needs to create a new doll. 22.01.2022 I am always amazed when I pick up a piece of wild timber and see an instant shape or form. The Hedge witch was so obvious her essence was very present and I delighted in making her. She holds a shamanic quality and feels like she also has celtic roots. This Spirit Doll has been fashioned from a piece of wild timber that holds the very essence of witch. She is a hedge witch, one that is able to visit the Otherworld. Hedge witches are able to communicate with the spiritual w...orld and send messages between both worlds. She travels with owl nestled in her cape. Owl carries inner knowing, ancient wisdom and can see in the dark, a good ally to have as the hedge witch travels the realms bringing back healing for her community. 17.01.2022 I'd like to introduce the Goddess Baubo, she is always there to remind us to let our hair down and have fun. She tells us to be proud of, to occasionally flaunt, and to be empowered by our femininity and sexuality. And Baubo reminds us to be sure to let our a good belly laugh every now and then. After all, laughter is one of our greatest gifts from the Goddess. As soon as I saw this piece of timber laying around on the property I knew it belonged to the Goddess Baubo, the ob...vious vagina was a dead give-a-way. She has the sweetest face, don't you think? Butter wouldn't melt in her mouth, such a dear old Granny but as you move down her body she is dressed in feathers and tulle....then when you least expect it, when you are distracted by the battles of your mind, she lifts her skirts and shows you what for! .........Ahahahaha Thank you Baubo, you broke the spell for the Goddess Demeter when she was in depression and inertia around the loss of her daughter Persephone. You help break the spell for me when I get on my soapbox and scream my righteousness or when I'm drowning in my victim, or pulling my hair out with frustration. You wink and lift and I laugh, I laugh a belly laugh that brings me back to my simple beautiful essence, I shake like a dog after a bath, I shake off all that dross...... and laugh. See more

12.01.2022 As I worked this piece of timber into a doll I noticed that I was sitting with the heaviness of displaced people across the world. I cried part way through the making, feeling overwhelmed by the loss we, as humanity, experience in the world individually and as a community. What emerged to my surprise were two sisters nestled into each other, one called Kangaroo Sister and the other, Bird Sister. Sitting with them I was reminded that all life is precious in any given moment ...and all we ever have is the moment. Kangaroo sister asked me How do I live in each moment with integrity and compassion and Bird sister called to me to vision the flow of life in its full potential. Then I re-remembered that in the separation we see greed, power and fear but in the flow we are connected to all our sisters and brothers of the world, we are connected to all our relations, we are connected to all. 09.01.2022 The night of Jo's spirit doll workshop, my doll visited me in my dreams to tell me I had it all wrong!! She told me she was not about creativity as I thought, but about equilibrium. She then proceeded to show me areas of my life and how balanced I am with all that I do. She was saying that this was my special gift. I had never thought of this as a gift, and I wouldn't have a clue what to do with it!! After telling Jo about my dream, she said it sounds like the centre of the... medicine wheel where there is balance and equilibrium, a place for grandmother spider to spin her web and show us the connection of all things. Also the place that we can travel the worlds, the upper, middle and lower, where we can climb the tree of life. Before I knew the spider represented the centre of the medicine wheel, I had had visions of being a spider transforming into a lotus. Mmmmmm. My spirit doll resides in my bedroom, and my partner has had crazy dreams since her arrival. He wants to create a friend for her so she will have something else, other than disturbing his dreams, to occupy herself!!! This was an amazing workshop. 07.01.2022 Yesterday I attended Jo's Soul Doll workshop, what a beautiful journey she lead the amazing group of women on. I walked the land and connected with a piece of wood which happened to be still in the earth, as I wriggled the stump it became loose and something inside of me called that this was my Soul Doll, I had to unearth it. I wriggled it, pulled and dug with my hands and it was holding on by one root. I then took a pick and gently dug around deeper and deeper until it cam...e out without breaking. I had birthed my soul doll in one sense, as she emerged from the earth into my hands. The wood had a great resemblance to a shark, and also a dugong, however I connected strongly with Shark energy. She is the elements of Earth and Water in one and from there she was woven into form around the wood. She is the elements, Earth, Water Air and Fire, she is direction, she is the Liberator. I was quite pleased with the outcome of my Soul Doll until I came home, my partners words were WTF is that!, he could not see her face amongst the felt and she to him looked like a big ball of fluff! Well that's when ego came in and I sat her down on my alter and looked at her. I had made her with the timber laying down and she looked quite different when I stood her up. I added more feathers, then took them out, tried to tighten the felt only making it worse. I second guessed the placement of her face, it was in the middle not at the top, she has a cone head, a bee hive, she didn't look as good as all of Jo's Soul Dolls....had I made her wrong? Then deflated I left her to go for a drive to the beach, as I watched the waves roll in I thought she looks like a cocoon.... and that was it, Cocoon and emergence were the words which came.. At 2am..ish I realised it's k that she looks like a cocoon....She is a pupa, (Latin for Pupa Girl Doll) in a chrysalis, an arm emergent and the face just out enough to see. She is both protected and the protector, she is able to navigate the dark watery states of transformation, the 'soup' of the psyche if you like, just as the caterpillar breaks it's self down and restructures itself into a butterfly. She is the transformer, the creator, she is the navigator of the underworld, the elements, she gives direction and so much more! She is everything that she spoke to me on the land after I had made her. And she is to be left looking like a cocoon... And so this morning I held her and asked what she wanted... and that be her arm exposed fully and a necklace with a shell, the fire element moved to above her eye and a butterfly tucked into her neck and so it was.... and I let go of needing her to be something other than what she was. 01.01.2022 Kuan Yin Goddess of Mercy and Compassion This doll began when I found the piece of wild wood, first speaking to me as I turned it over in my hands and felt its serene presence. Once the pieces came together I knew it to be Kuan Yin. This Spirit Doll embodies "Kuan Yin the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion". Her name means One who hears the cries of the world.... Kuan Yin is a bodhisattva, someone who has reached enlightenment and can enter Nirvana but has chosen to remain in this world in order to help those who are suffering. The vase that she holds is a symbol of harmony and contains the Dew of Compassion. Kuan Yin sprinkle's a few drops of the nectar to ease the pain or illness of whoever calls out to her.
