23.01.2022 ' ? Most people might think a brand story is the long history of their business or something that's been artificially work-shopped by the marketing team. While this isn't completely wrong, a brand story should be a representation of the core values that sit within the business and resonate with the customer. So, what is it exactly? A brand story is the authentic and unwavering narrative that brings together the facts and feelings created by your products.... It inspires emotional reactions and influences your price, quality, marketing, customer experience, purpose, values, location and most importantly what other people say about you. While you might not think you know of a brand story, this narrative exists within all businesses. Think of two local cafes you know. Perhaps neither store uses formal advertising and occasionally post on Facebook. People will still choose to eat at one or the other because of the story attached to them. In short, businesses succeed because they differentiate themselves. What differentiates your brand?

21.01.2022 Did you know that 93% of experiences on the internet start with a search engine? After someone makes a search, the top result on Google has a 33% chance of getting clicked. Based on this, it's no surprise you won’t be able to generate leads for your business if nobody can find you. ' , ' . Hosting your own website might sound scary at first, but it's a massive investment in the long run. A few things to ask yourself before you get ...started: - What is the primary purpose of my website? - What would my 'www.' domain name be? - What pages would I need to include? - Do I need a payment system to make online transactions? If a website sounds like the next step in your business, contact us to see how we can help.

21.01.2022 So many people make the mistake of thinking design is how something looks. While this is an important factor, design goes way beyond aesthetics. , '' , , . , , . If we start to think of design as problem solving, then distinguishing between 'good' and 'bad' design is no longer about individual taste - it's whether the designed solution will solve the problem.

20.01.2022 Did you know that recognising patterns is a baseline skill of humans (and animals) and viewing patterns in art tends to have a soothing psychological effect on the viewer? Pretty cool, right. Every day we see patterns around us which communicate a sense of balance, harmony, contrast, rhythm or movement. Although two-dimensional, the layering effect of patterns can also falsely create the perception of texture, shadow and depth.

19.01.2022 Unless you're fortunate enough to be the only player in your industry, you'll want to differentiate yourself from the competition. Businesses do this by defining a unique selling point (USP), also called a unique selling proposition. . , . An effective USP will define your company's unique p...osition in the market, getting at the heart of your business, communicating the value you offer and the problem you can solve. A strong USP will also include a specific benefit something that other competitors don't or can't offer making you stand out amongst the rest. Does your USP need enhancing?

19.01.2022 We've been busy building a website for the awesome chicks at Newberry Paterson! This reach also extends to individuals who are looking to advance their career or personal lives. Check it out at www.newberrypaterson.com.au and show them some love

16.01.2022 As a female entrepreneur (and sole trader), I spend a lot of my time building relationships with clients, carrying out design projects and don't forget the administrative work that makes this business tick. Too often I lack the time to invest in my own social media and online presence... Guilty! ! Like so many of us, the unprecedented events of late have given me time to stop, think and reset. For me, this has provided a boost of motivation to build consistency ...in my communication and grow my connection with the online community... you! , !

16.01.2022 The concept of relaying information through visual design is far from new to us. Think about cave paintings or hieroglyphics dating back to 30,000 BC, they accomplished the same thing. Although far less sophisticated back then, they demonstrate the ingrained connection when it comes to humans and visual information. When used correctly, infographics are an incredibly effective and quick way to tell a story, visualise complex data and balance out text-rich content to keep a...n audience engaged for longer. ' . Need help with infographics for your business? Splash can help you with data visualisation design. Contact us to find out more.

Splash were engaged by MantirriDesign to render a series of artworks which encouraged others to walk in the ancient footsteps of Aboriginal people to learn, feel and visualise Aboriginal cultures and understand the significance of waterholes in South Australia. The series of artworks can be found printed on... SA Water drink fountains, including those at Adelaide Oval. SA Water head office also displays these artworks across their glass facade facing Victoria Square. 10.01.2022 What does your font say about you? , ! ' . Back in the day, fonts were scarce and we saw a lot of repetition among those pictured here. But now, we have access to so many creative options including big ones, fat ones, thin ones, sloped ones, curly ones, serif and sans serif... types. Picking the right typeface for your brand takes a combination of firm rules and loose intuition, and years of experience to develop confidence in. 10.01.2022 Chances are, you don't look at a design and think, "Wow! That alignment is swell!" However if a poster had poor alignment, you wouldn't be able to ignore it. '' . . As Beyoncé knows, "to the left" horizontal alignment is the most common for a good reason - it's how we are taught to read. If you're working with a large amount of ...text then left alignment is likely the way to go, but if you're designing a business card or flyer, try experimenting with right or centre alignment. While alignment helps to add structure and keep elements organised, if your design benefits from breaking the rules, then go for it! As Picasso famously said, Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist."
