08.04.2022 As health practitioners, we can't take credit for the natural miracle of life occurring whether client is using IVF or trying naturally. We can't say Acupuncture made the difference. The client's experience is still vitally important that they feel cared for, listened to and supported. Its always GREAT news when someone gets a positive result. 05.03.2022 I got asked a question today about any caution around Reflexology in TTC or early Pregnancy. There is no known evidence that Acupuncture nor Acupressure causes miscarriage, so I would think the same applies to Reflexology. I used to think using Kidney 1 (KD1) on the sole of the foot was too downward directing of energy because of its grounding effects. So I thought it would be cautioned in IVF clients after their Embryo Transfers or women in stages of Early Pregnancy. Then I... attended a Debra Betts seminar and asked her about Kidney 1 directly - is it too downward directing? And she said No, its very effective with the calming and grounding aspect in these scenarios - around Transfer days and early pregnancy. It is also used in Labour to calm the mother, but a very effective point for relaxation. Debra Betts is the author or Acupuncture in Pregnancy and Childbirth a resource textbook for Acupuncture practitioners. I would always give as general advice once an Embryo Transfer has been completed or a positive Pregnancy test has been reached to take things easy, go gentle and avoid any deep tissue, strong bodywork. Gentle, gentle is the key, but it doesn't mean you can't receive relaxing, supportive bodywork treatment in those early weeks. See more

This means unfortunately massage will be on hold until further notice. Acupuncture can continue, as an essential service. NSW Health asks that patients also wear masks where possible. 25.01.2022 "I am calm, I am relaxed, I am feeling good". That's what most pregnancy clients say after an acupuncture treatment. But this week 2 clients didn't make their Acupuncture session because their bub arrived early. It's fantastic that pregnant women know what to do for self-care before birthing day. It's a shame they miss out on a massage and some pins, but the best reason to cancel an appointment I think! Here's one of the smiling little ones.

Whether they're trying to conceive, going through IVF, have conceived and miscarried, have had a still born child or neo-natal death or even have had a healthy pregnancy and now have a healthy newborn. 23.01.2022 Also getting acupuncture to prepare for birth is a good idea. Begin at 37 weeks and I send you home with an acupressure sheet for your birthing partner to apply during labour.

23.01.2022 Pericardium 6 - Nausea and vomiting or morning sickness. Apply consistent pressure on the point for 1-2 mins to ease any signs of nausea. I use this point a lot in Early Pregnancy for morning sickness. I also use it during any stage of Trying to conceive or Pregnancy to calm the mind and Shen (spirit).

Miscarriage, Termination due to health problems, Still birth and Neo-natal death are heartbreaking and traumatic. I talk to clients about how these events deeply affect them and their health. 03.01.2022 PERI-MENOPAUSE: Spring Fertility is about ALL Women's health not just fertility or Pregnancy. I'm seeing a couple clients regarding Menopausal Transition. I've posted about this before - think about Peri-menopause as your QUEEN phase, not your Crone phase. With a wholistic approach, TCM may assist some of those annoying symptoms - hot flushes, night sweats and irritability. I'm enjoying using Brian Grosham's research based point protocols to help clients with these issues. A good starting point is 4-6 sessions as this gives the body time to adjust temperature.
