17.01.2022 What a great way to end the week having afternoon tea with Marley and Gurseerat! I absolutely loved chatting with Marley about her Granny at the coast and how they will be visiting her in the holidays and Marley will be wearing a beautiful dress. This was Gurseerat’s first afternoon tea and she was an absolute delight! She made my day when she told me she does not want to have holidays because she loves coming to school and growing her brain!!! Thank you for having afternoon tea with me girls. See you next time!

16.01.2022 TABLOID SPORTS DAY IS ON TOMORROW!! Reminder that students do not need to wear school uniform they can come to school wearing their house colours. Students must be sun safe with sleeves on their shirts and have a hat and water bottle. Parents will be called to bring a hat and water bottle if it is forgotten. They also don't need to wear their black shoes, they can wear other sports shoes (they need to be able to run in them).Students may colour their hair and wear face paint however we ask that this is done at home and not brought to school. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions this event will be a student’s only event and parents will not be able to attend. We promise to take lots of photos to share with the community. We look forward to seeing students in their house colours.

15.01.2022 When supporting our children at SMSS to learn and grow our focus is always on the whole child. All our decisions as a school center around this - play-based learning, digital learning, problem based learning and practicing and providing support for social and emotional growth through our Positive Behaviour for Learning ways of working. We focus on growing children who love to learn, feel safe, confident and love to be challenged. We know to be successful in learning and life we need all of these. Our focus on wellbeing happens everyday.

05.01.2022 What a ROARSOME day at Springfield Central State School working with students across our Learning Coalition schools and participating in the LEGO creator skills day with LEGO masters Damian and Andrew! Enes, Bailey and Franxinn represented SMSS beautifully and were great team members throughout the day. The challenge was set that each team of 3 was to create 3 parts/builds:... 1. Create a creature - real or fantasy 2. Create the habitat - real or fantasy 3. Create the story without words - real or fantasy. Bailey and his team took first prize with their amazing Hungry Caterpillar. Enes and his team took second prize with their scorpion and village raiding. Franxinn and her team received positive feedback for their space turtle and space habitat creation! Check out the innovation, creativity, open-mindedness and fun that was had!
