20.01.2022 The time has come to make a final decision on NN2020 which was rescheduled to October 23 - 25 and unfortunately we feel that we have no choice but to cancel the event. With crowd restrictions still in place and no end in sight of border closures, it is simply not possible to run the event to the standard which we would be satisfied with. We now look to run the next Northern Nats on May 7 - 9, 2021. Existing entries, pit crew and camping passes will be carried forward to May... 7 - 9 and these ticket holders will avoid any future price rises next year and also be first priority should any restrictions still exist that would limit attendance numbers. If required however, a refund will be provided. We regret having to make this decision but are hopeful of some return to normality by May next year and are committed to ensuring NN2021 is the biggest and best Northern Nats yet.

16.01.2022 Here it is folks, the 2021 Springmount Raceway event calendar! Note that this year we have included ALL events to be run at the track throughout the year, including those to be run by other organisations. As usual, we have tried to avoid other local events where possible, but this isn't possible in all cases and some events like Northern Nats and 400 Thunder have been retained where they were scheduled to be run in 2020. Finally, in relation to the 400 Thunder event, given ongoing uncertainties around interstate travel, we will be announcing the "feature" for this event early next year.

13.01.2022 NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR AUGUST 22 & CALENDAR UPDATE Nominations are now open for racing on August 22 - please go to https://www.springmountraceway.com/events/august-22-2020/ The event include a Chicago Shootout as well as a Test & Tune / Race Ya Mate bracket for those not wanting to compete formally.... We also take this opportunity to confirm the calendar for the balance of 2020. Given the COVID-related disruptions this year, there is no Championship Series being run, so instead we will run several stand-alone race meets on the dates as per our current calendar with the same Chicago Shootout format of the Championship Series events with trophies and prize money on offer. As always, these events include a Test & Tune / Race Ya Mate bracket. The calendar also includes several Test & Tune nights on the Friday night before the scheduled race meets. These events will be run by the Far North Queensland Drag Racing Association under a private track hire agreement with Springmount Raceway and will be subject to limited numbers. Please contact the FNQDRA via their Facebook page if you are interested in these events. In relation to Northern Nats, we have kept this event on the calendar for now, however given increasing restrictions and border closures, we cannot guarantee that the event will run at this stage and will provide further updates in the near future.

04.01.2022 2020 Chicago Shootout Rules & Regulations Just a quick note to competitors of this year's Chicago Shootout events that the same rules and regulations will apply as per 2019 Championship Series events, which can be found at: http://www.springmountraceway.com//Championship%20Series.p The only exceptions to this will be that there will be no points tally as these events do not form part of a championship series, and that prize money will be scaled based on bracket size, such ...that full prize money will be paid based on an 8 car/bike field, 75% will be paid based on a field size of 6 or 7, and 50% will be paid based on a field size of 4 or 5. This is to avoid situations where the value of prize money and trophies actually exceeds the cumulative value of entrant fees for the bracket (and also reflects the fact that prize money is easier to win in a smaller bracket). Particularly with COVID impacts this year, we need to be mindful of finances and we are sure everyone can understand this. Finally, a reminder that presentations will be held in the scrutineering shed at the conclusion of racing. We hope to see you all there.
