22.01.2022 Tonight's game involved a pair of 8 balls, in the legs of a pair of pantyhose, worn on the head. We decided to call the game "Cups", to be on the safe side. The object? To knock over all 6 cups, return to base and hand over the pantyhose to the next player on the team. Here's a snippet of Round One!.

10.01.2022 How we are spending our time in lockdown! Death in a box is a game of bluf and double bluff. Each player has a box. In the box is either nothing, something undesirable or something desirable. The aim is to wind up with the desirable box. One player gets to look inside, so that player knows what they have. The other player then has the option to swop or not to swop boxes. It's quick and fun. We started with 8 and got down to a winner very quickly. Well done Ricky.

10.01.2022 We are carrying out repairs to a car we "inherited". We call her "Bad Debt", and that will give you a clue. It's an 02 Ford sedan Mechanically it's in good nick but the body has had more hits than Elvis When back on the road it will replace one of the Hilux utes as the hostel run around vehicle, and will also form the basis of a Driver Practice program so the kids in L plates can get some hours up. Here's a few pics. Alex and Hasan, 2 year 11 boys are getting an intro to cars, and that's going to include tool use, body work, spray painting, servicing, not to mention driving. I'd love to see a few more kids getting dirty. We have plenty of overalls

Always plenty happening around the hostel at this time of year, and with renovations soon to get underway, there is plenty of old and battered furniture to be put to good use. 07.01.2022 Springvale's own Huon Burns (pictured holding the ball in this team photo) became a part of history last night as he took the floor for the Dominoes Basketball Club in their first senior men's team in almost 30 years! Playing in the Hobart Senior Basketball League reserves roster, the Dominoes came away with a victory 92-77. Well Done Huon!

03.01.2022 People always ask ‘What’s so good about staying in Springvale?!’ And my answer to them is always.... ‘WE HAVE THERAPY DOGS!
