23.01.2022 We don’t know when we’ll be back on the field yet, but we’re getting closer! The club are preparing for 2021, and we want YOU to join us. Are you ready to dust off the cleats, pull out your glove and get back onto the diamond? Contact us via the listed email address if you are interested in being part of the upcoming summer season with the Big Cats

22.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS Kelly Manzie, winner of the Bill Reay Trophy for season 2019/20. Another amazing season filled with not only consistent performances, but highlight reels for days. Some may underestimate what this pocket rocket can do on the baseball field, but anyone who has had the pleasure of playing alongside her does not. Ready and willing to play any position to help the team, Kel not only provided support in the infield, outfield, on the mound and behind the plate, she ...had a stand out season with the bat. Her consistency and quietly competitive nature continues to drive the success of the Women's Firsts and she has been a significant piece of the puzzle through the longevity of the team's success in Division One. 19/20 was Kel's 18th season as a Big Cat, and this award means Kel becomes only the third player in our short history to win the Bill Reay Trophy 3 times. An amazing career so far, and much more to come. Well done Kel! See more

21.01.2022 QUOTE...Hanami Campitelli stepped up in a big way in 2019/20, providing a spark in left field and another consistent option in the batting order. But it came as no surprise to the coaches. 'H' has worked hard over a number of years to establish herself as not only a great little ballplayer, but an even better person - and for her, 19/20 was when things all started to come together in the Ones. 'H' brings more than just her baseball skills to the table and she is universally loved by all involved at the club. The Premiership win was just icing on the cake for a season that she thoroughly enjoyed

20.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW...The prestigious 'Bill Reay Trophy' is awarded annually to the player voted 'Best & Fairest' in the Women's Firsts. First established in 2003/4, the trophy honours one of the most important people in the history of the women's program. Bill gave his heart and soul, inspired players of all skill levels and ages to be the best they could be, and he pushed all involved to reach great heights. An award that is difficult to win given the quality of players who have been, and are currently, part of the Firsts, this award brings with it a sense of pride as we remember Billy Reay and how he was truly one of the best, and fairest

20.01.2022 Christmas dinner was a little different this year without chef Mick running the show, but the fill in crew did him proud. Another lovely night to celebrate the end of the year

18.01.2022 The final round of games before Christmas provided some interesting results, with three teams not taking the field, two drawn finishes and a partridge in a pear tree...well, two wins and one loss actually. Six of our eight teams go into the break undefeated, whilst the women's firsts have some work to do in the new year. Bring on Round 4 on January 16th

18.01.2022 Congratulations again to all of the award winners announced this week from both the Women's Firsts and Men's Firsts for season 2019/20. Thanks to those of you who have followed along throughout September as we have taken a look back at what was a great season. Well done to all of the very deserving winners from each team and also the club based awards. Stay tuned as we prepare for the upcoming AGM and start looking forward to more baseball in 2021!

17.01.2022 Congratulations Ando!

16.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to Emily Devine, winner of the Women's Firsts Most Valuable Player award for 2019/20. Solid as a rock week in, week out behind home plate, Emily shone with both glove and bat all season, a force to reckoned with for opposition pitchers. A player who has developed herself on and off the field in a number of areas, 19/20 was Em's breakout season and we can't be prouder of the player she is becoming! Well done Em, very well deserved for what was a huge contribution to the team's success.

14.01.2022 The club is excited to release the latest chapter of Springvale history, 'Chapter 3: The 'Vale Boys'. The third instalment takes us back to some pivotal moments including 'that curve-ball pitcher' Bob Luxford, tales from Mark Anderton as a Springvale junior and the introduction of the new pavilion at Burden Park. But what most of you might find interesting in this chapter is 'the bone of contention'. A talking point for anyone who ventures into our current clubhouse, finally we put to rest how and why 'that bone' exists. Enjoy http://www.springvalebaseball.com.au/club-history/

13.01.2022 Back by popular demand - Tiny Tots! So, bring the whole family down and enjoy a couple of sessions before we kick off our regular season in January 2021! For more information please contact us via email - [email protected]

10.01.2022 On behalf of the Big Cats, we would like to wish you and your loved ones a happy and safe Christmas. Here's hoping there's some baseball gear under your tree on Christmas Day

10.01.2022 The club are very excited to announce that we have successfully secured some funding through the VicHealth 'Reimagining Health' grant program to assist us in delivering our Diamond Girls program once again in 2021. This is fantastic news as we look to grow interest in baseball in the local community and provide ongoing development opportunities for all involved. A special mention to Wig & Chevy who introduced this program early in 2020 and continue to work hard to grow the game.

08.01.2022 REMINDER, don’t forget the Club AGM will take place via zoom this year on Tuesday 6th October at 7pm. It would be great to see as many people as possible on the line showing your support for the club! We don’t expect everyone to volunteer on the committee, just your attendance is great. 07.01.2022 HISTORY...Take a look back in time to when the Bill Reay Trophy was first established in 2003/04. The trophy has been awarded on 16 occasions up until this season, a total of only 10 different winners over that period. There are four players who have won the trophy more than once, and only two of those with more than two to their name. We can't wait to announce this year's winner, the 17th Bill Reay Trophy recipient...but you'll have to wait, the announcement will be made tomorrow night at 6.30pm! Stay tuned!

05.01.2022 REMEMBER WHEN...way back in February we kick-started our 'Diamond Girls' program to a group of new players from the local community. We are very proud of this program and are already planning for the second instalment as we prepare to move back out onto the baseball diamond soon! We can't wait to see more young players getting involved and giving baseball a go

We offer cheap fees and a great environment for people of all skill levels and abilities. Boys and girls who are interested in tee-ball or baseball, or men and women to play in our senior teams.
