20.01.2022 Hello Springwood, When Ananias had a vision in Acts 9 a feeling of confusion and fear surely came over him when the Holy Spirit told Ananias to go to the house of Judah in Damascus. Just the name of the place had seemingly Pharisaic overtones, which would have been intimidating for a follower of Jesus let alone that Saul of Tarsus was the one Ananias was supposed to visit and heal. You can hear the tone of shock and dread in Ananias’ response in verses 13 and 14, But Lord,... exclaimed Ananias, I’ve heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers in Jerusalem! And he is authorized by the leading priests to arrest everyone who calls upon your name. Saul’s infamy has preceded him all the way to Damascus, which makes me wonder if he had any foreboding nicknames to those who followed Jesus of Nazareth. It’s worth noting that God assures Ananias and does not get upset at Ananias’ search for clarity. At times, God has asked me to do some things that has shocked me and given me pause for concern. But on confirmation that God’s words were true and pushing through the mission, there was always a reward of some kind eventually. Is there something scary God is asking you to do? Blessings, Pastor Joe Azzopardi

12.01.2022 Lest we forget Today is Remembrance Day and at 11am we will have one-minute silence to remember those who died or suffered for Australia's cause in all wars and armed conflicts. At 11 am on 11 November 1918 the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. The allied armies had driven the German invaders back, having inflicted heavy defeats upon them over the preceding four months. In November the Germans called for an armistice ...(suspension of fighting) in order to secure a peace settlement. They accepted allied terms that amounted to unconditional surrender. On the first anniversary of the armistice in 1919 two minutes' silence was instituted as part of the main commemorative ceremony at the new Cenotaph in London. The silence was proposed by Australian journalist Edward Honey, who was working in Fleet Street. In 1997, Governor-General Sir William Deane issued a proclamation formally declaring 11 November to be Remembrance Day, urging all Australians to observe one minute’s silence at 11am See more
