22.01.2022 I participated in a medicine ceremony, recently- where the Earth revealed herself to me in new ways. We hiked quite a way to the sacred space that we would pray within for the day. 19.01.2022 Joy is my natural state of being. It is where my innocent inner child feels safe, secure and willing to come out to be seen, heard, felt and touched. In the past, joy was something that I perceived to be a goal in life. If I wasn’t happy then I was a failure. Over the past few years as I have continued to delve deeper into my own experience of being a human who carries trauma, hurts and wounds- I have begun to recognize that joy is just as fleeting a feeling as any other; n...ot something that can be pinned down, fixed or chased after. It is not a destination, rather, a coordinate that requires the journey towards discovering more and more of myself. My true joy comes in those unexpected moments - where I feel an aliveness and connection to my truth. This truth- is usually revealed after I have traversed the rocky internal terrain, painted with the hues of my own personal suffering, and come out the other side to the spacious clearing where all else has fallen away. For me, true joy exists in the moments when I can bask in the simplicity of being myself, without trying to be anything more or less than who and what I am. I have come to love, trust and appreciate myself more than ever before, because I have been tested and forged in the fires of transformation; where I was the only one who could hold and carry myself through. This journey of walking through the fire, the burning away of all that no longer serves and the rising again and again from the ashes anew- is nothing less than a heroic feat. It is a journey that many of us must take- to become fully alive, and fully oneself. When I encounter Joy- I am elated to welcome and embrace her as my dear, beloved friend. However, I do not attach myself or hold on too tightly, for I know that she will soon leave me as unexpectedly as she came.

It was such a delight to gather from so far away with many of my beloveds in our shared heart prayer, to unleash the wild from within. While many of us continue to experience a state of lockdown due to the current global circumstances, this dance party was a reminder that the wild power that exists within each of us, CAN NEVER BE TAMED.! When we choose to come t...ogether in solidarity and unity to honor and acknowledge our shared desire to FREE ourselves from our cages and unleash our ROARS into the world- we remember that ANYTHING is possible. 03.01.2022 The deeper I walk onto this path of surrender, I continue to be reminded of what a humble journey it truly is. The ego must always walk behind the prayer. I must always walk behind the prayer, NEVER ahead. It is the prayer that is actually leading me and us onwards. It is a prayer that was whispered into the ethers before I even knew there was a voice beckoning me to listen. On this journey I have had the privilege of meeting many pilgrims and many teachers along the way. Eac...h one has gifted me with another piece of the puzzle. Each one has given me a reflection that shows me a closer glimpse of who and what I am and the purpose that I am here to serve. Our teachers are no better than we are, they have simply walked further along the path, collected the pieces that are theirs to carry and learned to surrender those parts of themselves that were getting in the way of deeply listening. These teachers, whether human, animal, plant or any other are worthy of our respect; for as humble students we understand the challenges we must encounter to earn wisdom. A humble teacher knows that s(he) is also, always a student. The GREAT teacher is the prayer itself, the path itself, the mystery itself; in all the myriad of ways it chooses to reveal itself to each of us. The ritual space is one where each of us gets to practice getting out of our own way to become the hollow bone. It is a space where each of us gets to learn how to be humbled by the unique song that is asking us to open the instrument of the body so that it can play it’s music through us. Our main task is to have the willingness to continue clearing out all of the dross that keeps our instrument from being a clear channel. This takes courage; it takes commitment, perseverance, compassion and patience but most of all it takes a willingness to fully re-member ourSelf as the living embodiment of the Song, itself.
