15.01.2022 Laundries don’t have to be dull as the Blockheads showed us last night, their laundry rooms were both stylish and practical. From the gorgeous and generously sized sinks, beautiful tapware, luxe tiles to the assortment of cabinetry their spaces were definitely a considered part of their house designs. Functionally, they used every bit of space, plenty of storage above and below, good counter space, drying racks, broom and ironing board cupboards even a cosy nook for the fur... baby of the house. Small or large space, you can still give it personality. What would you include in your laundry?

15.01.2022 Look at these happy chooks in their upcycled chook house!! Its amazing what a fresh lick of paint and a couple of accessories can do - a nesting box was built and added to the back, but it took a couple of goes to get it right. The first attempt was built with timber that was too heavy, but after some advice from the local Mitre10 store, the re-build was spot on. Parts of a wooden lattice was used to make the front door to make sure the chooks have enough ventilation. A big... feeling of satisfaction after finishing this project, even after a couple of bumps along the way, but choosing the sun yellow paint on their front door really finished it off Doesnt it just make you so happy??? **Not hardware related but found out that chooks need dry dirt to help keep them clean and healthy from parasites, called a dirt bath. Some dirt was added under the pen so it stays dry all year round. Paint used was Dulux Gold Rush for the yellow door and Monument grey for the outer walls.

07.01.2022 It really only takes 1 product to give your bathroom a whole new look! Check out this fantastic bathroom mini-makeover before and after photos by one of our customers. The result is just amazing considering the most striking change was from the clever use of Dulux Reno tile paint, an economical renovation solution with a very contemporary finish. Say goodbye to the dated feel without going through the costly exercise of removing and replacing a wall of tiles. Making a cou...ple of other changes really took this bathroom to the next level. The vanity top was sanded back to reveal a lovely timber grain, and then finished off with a clear benchtop varnish to protect it from moisture. The modern look was completed with the change to black tapware and accessories, its now a completely different room. Mighty Helpful Tip: when using the Dulux Reno tile paint, its necessary to sand back the tiles first but this is where our customer encountered a hurdle. Despite several attempts, the sander was not making any impact on the tile surface and when testing the paint, it would not stick. Unsure of what to do, she returned to the store and had a chat with the paint specialist. They realised the old tiles were actually porcelain and porcelain tiles do not sand! In this instance, we recommended to use a product called ESP (Easy Surface Prep) which is a no more sanding agent and it was exactly what she needed to make it work. The results speak for themselves! This bathroom has been transformed thanks to a few changes, the DIY surface changes a fun and very rewarding project to undertake. Thank you for sharing your story.
