20.05.2022 A big thank you to everybody that supported us at the Old Bus Depot Markets last weekend. It was great to be back at these fantastic markets after being closed for so long. We hope to be back there again next month and will post an update soon.
14.05.2022 I'm watching you!!
05.05.2022 We had some new arrivals this week. Unfortunately mum is only feeding one lamb so we have to step in again and be "mum & dad". It's a tough gig but someone has to do it. They are happy with their new friends.
25.01.2022 Hi everyone, we will be at Tarana Markets this Sunday 22nd September. This time we have a few hand dyed silk scarves for sale as well as hand knitted wool scarves made from our natural coloured wool. They make a great gift for those overseas friends and relatives that are approaching winter. We also have some Christmas earrings (angels) for sale at the special price of $10 a pair.
24.01.2022 Why lambs feel safe at our place......
23.01.2022 Hi all, just a short note to tell you we will be at the Bathurst Showground Markets on Sunday 15th from 9.00am to 1.00pm. This is our first outing for 2020 and after a tough dry summer where we lost an alpaca, our last 2 horses and one of our dogs we had some good news today with Mocha giving birth to a lovely cria. I have attached some pictures of our new baby girl we have called Mia. Mother and baby are both doing well. See you on Sunday.
21.01.2022 Hi all, we will be at Tarana Markets this Sunday 27th October. It was a big week this week with all our sheep getting shorn. This means we have lots of beautiful natural coloured fleece for sale. Come along and have a look. I have a few picis showing a few fleeces and the girls with their new haircuts.
21.01.2022 Last month we had some lambs born. It was not planned but it seems a few ewes took advantage of a fallen tree and got into the rams paddock. We have a Black English Leicester (Cranky) and a White Border Leicester (Roger) in the rams paddock. No prize for guessing who the father is. Mum and babies are doing well but the lambs have complained of the tough life on a farm.
21.01.2022 You know when the dams are getting a little low.....
20.01.2022 Noticed the grass getting a bit long so got the mower out. Bit noisy. you will notice quite a number of different brands on show.
19.01.2022 Every night our little bunch of chooks come down the yard to tell us that it is time for dinner and bed. However this time we had ring-in.
18.01.2022 As today was the 1st June restrictions have been eased and we were able to get the beautician to visit and tend to our sheep. You will see a photo of the sheep in the shed waiting for the hairdresser who is shown hard at work. The other photo is the sheep relaxing in the sun with most being quite content. However you always have one that needs to complain. The sheep in question is named Fluffy and she said that she had been waiting for months and was not happy with the end result. I did have to point out that she only paid $1 and all complaints need to be in writing and submitted to Ollie. You will see Ollie discussing an earlier complaint with our Muscovy Duck.
17.01.2022 The weather is definitely getting warmer. Time for a swim!!
17.01.2022 Little Angel only 2 days old. All legs.

15.01.2022 Looks like Silent Dale has a few more "rescue" animals. This time it is 6 ex cage hens. They are so happy in their new run they even laid some eggs.
15.01.2022 We enjoyed a lovely day out yesterday at Perthville Fair. A very special thanks to Rosanne and Rhonda who were the first to purchase some packs of Ashford merino/silk slivers in the new colours. We really appreciate your continued support. Our next market is Tarana on Sunday 22nd. Hopefully we will miss the kangaroos this time.
15.01.2022 Today we had the hairdresser visit to give the guys a trim. There were some complaints but overall everyone was happy with their haircuts. Afterwards they sat around for a catchup while enjoying the sunshine.

13.01.2022 Hill End Woolly Jumpers
12.01.2022 Chloe is supposed to be a working dog. She has discovered that you are better off ignoring sheep so they go away.
12.01.2022 This morning we lost Mary our pet merino. She had been with us for 12 years and gave us a lot of laughs. I have included a couple of photos of Mary when she was younger. You will see that she loved to drive the Landcruiser and was also very aware of the dangers of too much sun so she liked to wear her Akubra and sunglasses. We will miss her.
11.01.2022 Hi everyone, we are out and about again this weekend. On Saturday 28th, we are at the Yarn Market, 79 Bank Street Molong. The market runs from 10 til 3. 11.01.2022 We are very excited about our new arrivals at Silent Dale. I have attached a few photos of our new coloured Merinos recently purchased from Chevalier College. They are a tight knit bunch and have settled in very well and have even made friends with our ducks, Doris and Daisy. As you can see the fleece is black. We will be shearing next year. Watch this space.

This is our last outing for the year as we need to spend some time on the farm catching up on chores. I have included a few photos below. We have Jock, our miniature donkey, checking out progress on the new toy wombat and we have Fluffy the paddock supervisor sneaking a look around the willow tree. I have also included a photo of a new woven scarf in the making and Wilbur Wombat.

08.01.2022 This week we had to do some fence repairs. We were worried that the sheep might get into the yard before the new fence was put up so we got our 2 best working dogs on duty ready to jump into action once the command was given. I have enclosed a few action shots taken on the day.
07.01.2022 We are off to the markets again this weekend. This Saturday 3rd August we will be at Oberon Markets. Hope to see you there. Plenty of fleece and tops for you to choose from. 06.01.2022 It is with regret that we have decided to cancel the Hill End Spinning Retreat for 2020. A number of people came back to us with concerns about attending an event at this time but have expressed a desire to attend such an event in the future. It is now our intention to hold two retreats next year, the first one will be held on 14-16 May 2021 and the second one will be 15-17 October 2021. We are sorry that we have had to make this difficult decision and we hope that we will... see you all next year. Any money that has been paid will be fully refunded if required or used as payment/deposit for next year. Please contact us letting us know your wishes. See more
06.01.2022 Ann and Eric would like to say thanks to everyone that came along to Bathurst Showground markets today. Especially like to thank those who supported us by buying our product. We hope you enjoy your purchases and if you have any questions or if we can be of further service please do not hesitate to contact us. I share with you a photo of some of our friends enjoying the sunshine.
06.01.2022 When we lost our sheepdog Bess a few years ago we tried a few dogs but they were all duds. This left only one option. It is true about the old saying if you want it done right then do it yourself. The only downside is that this sheepdog backchats.
05.01.2022 Just thought I would show you the difference in the paddock when you get some decent rain. The first picture was taken in December 2019 while the second picture was taken today. No wonder the sheep are smiling.
05.01.2022 Hi all, just to let you know that we will be at Bathurst Showground tomorrow(Sunday) for the Spring markets. we will have some hand dyed tops and yarn as well as hand knitted teddy bears. We also have silver charm bracelets (with 6 charms) for $20. Hope to see you there.
