25.01.2022 Next weekend is the Tasmanian Open proudly supported by Devonport Squash Club - Tasmania and the Devonport City Council. Get along to watch or play!

22.01.2022 , , , We hope everyone is well and keen to get back on court. It might be time to start dusting off the racquet and findi...ng those shoes with the aim to re-commence play on the 15th June. To encourage everyone back playing and celebrate the Centre re-opening we are offering free squash for a month from the 15th. It doesn’t matter if you are member or a casual player, all are welcome to take up this offer. As you would appreciate we have been keenly following developments from all relevant bodies to establish when it is possible to open Eastside. To date we have held discussions with Squash Australia, Tasmanian Community Sport and Rec and Clarence City Council in order to determine what Eastside needs to have in place in order to re-open. Essentially the earliest date for re-opening is the 15th of June and at that stage we need to have in place both "Ready to Play" and "Safety Plan" documents that meet all the necessary criteria. These documents are referenced to: Communities, Sport and Recreation Tasmania Clarence City Council Tasmanian Government Stages - 1, 2 and 3 AIS guidelines - Levels A, B and C The expectation is that on the 15th of June Tasmania progresses to AIS Level B (which covers both outdoor and more importantly indoor sport) and Tasmanian Government Stage 2 at which point squash can be played from that date subject to the necessary plans being in place. - ? On the 15th June, all going well, squash can resume with a number of caveats such as: No more than 20 participants at the centre Pennant and competition cannot commence at this stage however training and practising is permissible. No more than 2 people on the court There are a number of other requirements that we will outline closer to the 15th. 15th July - Tasmanian Government Stage 3 Hopefully Stage 3 and AIS Level C will coincide and we can commence to have more normal arrangements - such as pennant and competition. We will provide a further update on this stage when this is looking likely to occur. ? At this stage we are working on the assumption that the 15th of June is the starting date for Eastside to re-open. Once we have finalised the necessary documents and they have been approved we will provide a further update and expand on the specific requirements that need to be followed. It will be important that all members comply with the rules and regulations to ensure Eastside remains open.
