25.01.2022 So...11 show jumping rounds , 7 different horses, 2 unplanned exits ( guardian angel no injuries), some steep learning curves and some AMAZING highs. Thank you to Bates equestrian ( couldnt have got around without you Christine) and Sppha NSW. Thank you to my owners for trusting me..Thank you Rachel for believing In me. (And the riding tips in between rounds.) Sharing the fail and then the getting back on and getting it done!

24.01.2022 Headed out to Menangle for a Life after Racing promotion. Words cannot express how proud I am of the beautiful Hawk Owl. Just 4 weeks under saddle.. REALLY massive test how he would handle himself as a ridden horse in his old racing environment.. No pacing.. handled prep and the new expectations of him like a pro. So humbled by his trust. Thank you to Rachel Borysko for matchy matchy goals and the little things like girth checks and straight helmets. #she'sthepro and Thank you to Liz Hillman for being such a great strapper. 20.01.2022 Went for a little field trip with this beautiful boy from Diamond Park Standardbreds. Such a credit to his owners Amanda and Nick who have him looking AMAZING.. Just two weeks under saddle and he really is enjoying his new lifestyle. Big shout out to Rachel Borysko from KR show horses and training for all foundational ground work put into this boy! It has made the transition to ridden work so much smoother for him.

19.01.2022 SS Equine services is so proud of one of our rehomed horses. Thank you to his new owner Rachel Walton for loving him and providing him every opportunity to succeed. 6 months ago his race trainers donated him and I picked up a nervous little boy who flinched at EVERYTHING. We backed him over 4 weeks and then he went home with his new owner. Fast forward to present and he is back in training his next level. We have a lovely horse who is confident in his work and enjoys new challenges like jumping! I trust him to take care of my 9 year old who warms him down and as a lead line pony out on the roads for beginners. 17.01.2022 Thank you to the owners of the 3 beautiful horses I had the pleasure of taking to Hawkesbury Riding Club show jumping day. All 3 did such a super job for where they are up to in their training. I am so humbled that these big beautiful creatures, with strong opinions of their own, trusted me enough to carry me over some randomly arranged poles when they know the easy way is AROUND them!! 14.01.2022 Just for those who still don’t get it. This is a good outline for a young horse starting under saddle. No fancy moves, no influencing this and that body part, n...o training for a show or competition, just simple and large lines, boring trots, and time. Time to build balance, time to build trust, time to build muscle. Good starting is not how many ‘buttons ‘ you can install in little time, good starting is getting out of the horses way, letting them move freely and assisting them to find that new balance See more

12.01.2022 All horses are different and respond differently to stimulus.. I have horses that are quieter on a trail ride than Johnny but havnt had enough time under saddle to be comfortable with things like this. Working with a horse like this that hasn't been hurt by humans and enjoys interacting with them has been so much fun. #ssequine #lifeafterracing #thoroughbredsofinstagram

09.01.2022 DEPOSIT TAKEN TWOBOBROB aka Robbie 4yr old gelding approx 15hh... Qualified for 2021 OTT Series Final Robbie is an absolute sweetheart. He is the first to call out as soon as he sees you and will follow you everywhere, he loves being with his human friends. He has three great paces under saddle and can already hold an established canter for multiple circles both ways. Robbie came to us a little light on but is now gaining weight. He still has a lot of growing and maturing to do. We have taken Robbie to various indoor arenas and he has also attended a jumping day at Bates Equestrian where he was a complete gentleman. He has been ridden by nervous youths and looks after his riders perfectly, he really is an old soul Robbie sustained a nasty eye injury that ended his racing career and left him with a ‘blue’ eye but has been cleared by both his trainer's vet and our vets at Hawkesbury Equine - he still has full sight out of the eye - we think this makes him even more special Robbie is available for rehoming at $2000 paid in full or $2500 on a payment plan which requires a legally binding contract. 06.01.2022 Our rehoming program is successfully providing fantastic homes and Life After Racing for our beautiful Standardbreds As our horses are in high demand and are ...usually adopted within a week of being advertised we are beginning to accumulate a waiting list of interested parties. It is due to this popularity that we are taking EOI for our current gelding in saddle training, meet Hawkowl! Hawke is a striking 9yr old gelding who has been an absolute delight - he has a lovely comfortable trot and is quiet to ride through the streets and next to the M7. This is only his first week with Sarah from SS Equine and he's coming along in leaps and bounds! If you would like to keep up to date with his progress or would be interested in meeting him please message us!
