22.01.2022 A great show called 'Female virtuosity on recorder', it features the fabulous solo players Bolette Roed (Prelude from a Bach Violin Partita), Alison Melville (Staeps Sonata in E flat) and our own Hannah Coleman with the Melbourne S.O. playing 2 movements from Nigel Westlake's Paper Planes. Female ensembles are also included. Seldom Sene: Geysen's Omtrent A-B-C Trio Avium: Boismortier Trio Sonata... Sirena Recorder Quartet: Schickhardt Concerto No. 3 and Alicia Crossley playing in Duo Blockstix: Daniel Rojas ... of magic and realism. Great female talent from all over the world, including some standout Australian women, playing very diverse music from the Baroque up to very recent contemporary work. Listen to Fine Music (102.5) at 6pm on Sunday 29 November. Prepared and hosted by Susan Foulcher and Rob Small.

22.01.2022 Let’s support our recorder playing friends and Consort 8.

14.01.2022 Be wary of hand sanitizer coming in contact with your wooden recorders. Im assuming that this cello story would also apply to recorders.

10.01.2022 Many of us enjoyed the visit of the great Walter Van Hauwe a few years ago. This is an insightful interview by Sarah Jeffery, posted a couple of days ago.

09.01.2022 Here's you Friday recorder joke: "A Year 3 student (at a recorder lesson): ‘I think there are some numbers missing. I tried ringing Thomas Tallis on 1505 1585 and it said to check the number before dialing again.'" There are a whole lot of hilarious kid's music funnies here.

09.01.2022 Wandering through a Glebe Park on a Sunday afternoon and heard the dulcet tones of a bass recorder. Voila - a lovely sight of recorder player at a picnic table. I decided to go over for a chat and discovered one of the SSRP members with her recorders and music whiling away and hour or two making music!!

07.01.2022 Our good friends Susan Foulcher and Robert Small have put this program together - this coming Sunday afternoon on Fine Music FM. Its always worth listening to while you wind up your weekend.

06.01.2022 Are you an 'upwardly mobile recorder student'? Check yourself against these 7 Habits ....

05.01.2022 If you missed Consort 8 and the Early Dance Consort last Saturday, you can enjoy a short 3min piece featuring both groups. Great recorder playing to accompany superb courtly dancing.
