25.01.2022 Goodbye old fave boot leg jeans! Goodbye my treasured little girl... May my jean legs keep you feeling loved while you enjoy your first visit to Day Care. Mama looks better in denim cut offs anyway!

24.01.2022 To you I confess my only regret from my time at Woodford Folk Festival.... Only buying one gorgeous dress from Alpucker (admittedly my husband bought me two last year...)! Organic unbleached cotton, designed, woven and sewn by families in Peru. Available currently at markets in South East Queensland. Like their Facebook for more details. ... P.S Their promo photos dont do the designs justice! Check them for yourselves at; http://alpucker.myshopify.com

23.01.2022 Its Anti-Poverty Week and time to relaunch WayWard Community! Since having a daughter I have truly embraced womanhood and my heart to set free women who are trapped by the cycle of poverty. With great excitement (and a little girl on my lap) I am sharing the new mission statement for WayWard Community...... "WayWard Creates a Way forWard for women through restoring and founding creative communities. Creativity is having freedom of choice. Freedom to choose a new way of life." WayWard Fashion will use this mandate to make fashion for for all! http://www.antipovertyweek.org.au

22.01.2022 Trashiest Valentines Day Gift Ever! I bought my husband tickets to the screening of A Plastic Ocean at The Powerhouse. It was devastating but inspiring and my hatred of plastic has been invigorated! Think cute little seabirds dying because their stomach is literally full of chunks of plastic they mistook as food. Much of the plastic that ends up in the ocean is from food packaging... So whats one plastic wrapped item you can avoid buying today?#aplasticocean#saynotoplasticsaveenvironment#ecowarriors#savethereef https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zrn4-FfbXw

22.01.2022 Gratitude seems to be the theme of the day! Trying to exercise my mind, while I do Mumly chores, I came across this short video that rejuvenated the social scientist in me! It seems that giving a selfless smile of gratitude is more self serving than we thought! Make 2017 happy! Say thank you.

21.01.2022 Boys clothes made not boring! Short on time but want to personalise that baby gift? Add a cute-as-a-button, button or two and the new Mama has an outfit full of love for her new baby. Congratulations Jo and Josh! You made a cute one P.S Thanks Eva for relinquishing your favourite monster onesie!

21.01.2022 Reviewing the Good On You app this week. Pretty excited to play a part in putting ethical at your fingertips!

20.01.2022 Day two of #wearthechange2020. Same piece of ethical clothing worn for five days with different styling. I watched it unveil on Insta yesterday and I Love it! People like you taking up the challenge and raising support to empower the refugees who are employed to make the label The Social Outfit. They are doing what I wanted to when I started WayWard and I am exhilarated by what a damn good job they are doing! https://thesocialoutfit.org

18.01.2022 Disenchanted. Ive been learning that chemicals are often used to process bamboo because its cheaper than mechanical engineering of the fabric. I retreated to earth myself on the grass with a soothing issue of Peppermint. And raised my spirits it did with this article on Melbourne Apparel Co. who are raising the fabric manufacturing industry from drowning in a sea of fast fashion! #peppermintmagazine#melbourneapparelco#australianmade

16.01.2022 I am back and I am blank. I began WayWard Community as the wave of ethical fashion was rising in Australia. Then my belly began to rise and I let others ride that peak. I did not want to be a super Mum. With thoughts of returning to my label, the sexy business of fashion bought about another conception and this baby boy has made me proud of all that I have helped to grow, including myself. WayWard was again to return, third time is a charm and with great alarm, COVID-19 bou...ght the fashion industry to its knees. Now is my time. Since the pandemic began and my hopes of a creative career were lost in a sea of sanitiser, I plotted my course. I am now working to help ethical labels weather this storm. Many local labels here in Melbourne have a more sustainable business model. This gives us hope and I am determined that one of the many positives to arise from this crisis, is that the fashion industry will be subverted. How I am fighting for this has changed yet my goal remains the same. WayWard Community exists to make fashion fair for all. In this world of Insta filters and Photoshop please watch this page be built again with authenticity and the transparency we are all now craving. Thank you for joining me on this exciting journey.

11.01.2022 I remember when this young lady spent her English classes filling lined notebooks with stunning anime. I want to take a moment to celebrate how far she has come!

10.01.2022 Usually its private. But today, moved so I was by my art therapy that I had to share. The emphasis as a woman is too often on our bodies, how they look, what they can achieve or reproduce. Imagine if we tended our mind with the same nurturing? The same care and attention to attain or maintain a healthy body? The worlds that could be created, where our gentle feminine strength could bring to fruition the ideals that we sigh away. The power in collectively deciding that our ideas matter and they can be seen in reality because if we all do this together, then Im sure we will find that our ideal is most likely universal. We want freedom, love and respect. If we all start giving it then its not something to be fought for, it is instead to be received.

05.01.2022 Critically Endangered Clothing. Hands numb with cold feel the rush of blood pumping with passion for the chance to shop ethical on the budget afforded to the most of us. A local op shop opened. Eyes alive I scoured the racks for clothing created from natural fibres. From hope to heartache I realised the extent to which polyester has poisoned our fashion. Fuelled by fossil fuels and synthesised with carcinogenic chemicals. Polyester is plastic. This fabric is chosen by manufa...cturers because it is cheap. And because we enjoyed fashion disintegrating from being a luxury to being disposable. The problem being that polyester and other synthetics can be thrown away but they dont go away. They poison our bodies and then poison our land. The mainstream fashion industry has largely come to a halt. The fashion industry responds to consumer demand. When you start buying again, read your labels and choose to tell the fashion industry that you will not buy plastic clothing. This delicious thick knit cotton jumper was one of only two pieces of clothing in my local op shop that were entirely made from a natural fibre. Fashion has slowed down. Take the time to think how you want it to look for our new future.

04.01.2022 With giving being at the heart of this season, I am looking at the heart of what WayWard Community stands for. Restoring freedom, and until WayWard can offer rehabilitation to trafficked children, I am looking to partner WayWard with an anti-trafficking organisation that can provide help to girls that need it today. Let me know if you have any charities you can recommend and together we will Create a Way forWard!
