04.01.2022 Another great original from our beautiful Mayah who graduated Yr 12 at St John's College in 2019 and is now pursuing her dream career of singing and creating original music. I recall her saying in her Yr 10 Career Interview that she would rather starve on the streets than not be able to follow this dream. I applaud your tenacity and vision Mayah. May your vocation be fully blessed.

04.01.2022 Bruce Bell and work partner David from Skills Generation presented on Drones and Robots.

04.01.2022 The government, universities and industry must work together to help students understand how their knowledge, skills and other attributes can be applied in the labour market, and where the opportunities exist. Students also need better access to career education in high school and at university. Career services in universities have been recognised as under-resourced.

04.01.2022 Year 9 Careers and Work Preparation Day Year 9 students attended a Careers and Employment Preparation Day this week. This is one component of an ongoing Careers Program at the school which leads in to a five day block Work Experience in Week 10 of Term 1 in 2020 and culminates with their Subject Selection and SET Plans in Term 3, 2020. To enhance the students' knowledge regarding various industries the day was called Work Inspirations. This was essentially to stimulate their... imagination and increase their knowledge of the variety of roles and opportunities that exist in these industries in Queensland. The format for this activity involved two different 40 minute sessions selected from a list of Industry Presentations, including Health, Aviation, Tourism/Food/wine, Agriculture/fisheries, Drones /Robots and Construction. The day was well received by students, who also worked on Career investigation and Resume development. Please see photos and videos of the presentations in previous posts.
