The students have been completing the challenge as part of their fluency in our mathematics program. We are thrilled to congratulate Archie and Jordan on their incredible performance and dedication in this year's challenge!

24.01.2022 Learning In Action - Kindergarten, Day 3 In Kindergarten we enjoy practising our fine motor skills. One of our favourite activities is beading. As part of our guided reading rotations, the children are practising their fine motor skills and beading their sight words.

Today we read from the Gospel of John and shared this prayer with our school community. Dear Lord, show us how to be more like you. Please give us strength and courage to always make the right choices. May the Holy Spirit help us to love one another. Amen.

19.01.2022 Today we ended a busy week of celebrations and reflected on the values Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop brought to our lives and the ways in which we live out her motto to never see a need without doing something about it. We especially celebrate Chloe in Seniors and John-Michael in Middles who received our Mary MacKillop award. They are both outstanding examples of how we can follow in the footsteps of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and open our hearts to others.

19.01.2022 Learning In Action - Seniors Day 2: Mathematics Our senior Mathematicians love exploring all things to do with ‘Position’. With the help of Google Maps and old street directories, the seniors have been creating routes using landmarks, compass directions and positional language.

18.01.2022 Learning In Action - Year 2, Day 1: History In Year 2 we are learning about the history of our school by being detectives of the past! We interviewed Mrs Porteous who has been working at the school for 21 years. Look at what we learnt: * Hannan Court was named after Tom Hannan who was the school handyman. * The original St Paul of the Cross school was across the road in the Church hall.... * St Paul of the Cross school has always been a co-ed school. * The school office and staff room were originally the convent used by the Sisters of St Joseph. 13.01.2022 Today we were lucky enough to have a visit from popular children’s author Aleesah Darlison! We heard all about her books and discussed ways to improve our persuasive writing.

12.01.2022 We’ve missed our students so much, and look forward to welcoming them back when they return to full face to face learning on Monday 25 May. The safety and wellbeing of our school community is still our number one priority. We request parents drop students at the school gate and not come onto the premises in the morning and adhere to social distancing protocols during the staggered afternoon pickup.

11.01.2022 Learning In Action - Year 2, Day 3: Mathematics We are lucky enough to be using Beebots as part of our Maths lessons this week! We are learning the importance of instructions and have enjoyed programming the Beebots to move in different directions.

09.01.2022 The Josephite charism was alive in our school community today as we joined together in our pastoral groups to celebrate the love and courage Mary MacKillop shared with others.

08.01.2022 Today our students participated in fun sports activities and wore brightly coloured mufti clothes to reflect the joy and kindness Mary MacKillop brought to so many people. We collected gold coins and raised $421 to be donated to Mary MacKillop Place at North Sydney. We hope you enjoy these snapshots from today!

06.01.2022 Learning In Action - Kindergarten, Day 4 This term in Kindergarten we have been practising our independent reading skills to help build our reading stamina. As part of our morning routine, the children come into class and head straight for their favourite books and begin their independent reading. Each week we have added one minute to the timer and we are now enjoying a whole 10 minutes of independent reading! Go Kinder!

04.01.2022 Learning In Action - Seniors Day 4: Religious Education This week, Seniors have been exploring the structure and organisation of the Catholic Church in Australia as part of the ‘Universal Church’ under the leadership of the Pope. They enjoyed listening to and viewing photos from Mrs Porteous’ trip to Rome in 2012.

We have been fortunate to have their skillful coaching staff running a superb soccer clinic during the past 4 weeks! 04.01.2022 Learning In Action - Kindergarten, Day 2 Kindergarten have been constructing informative texts about different animals as part of their writing unit this term. We were lucky enough to have a very special visitor join our morning, Noodle the Blue-Tongue Lizard! The children observed Noodle and his features and engaged in a draw, talk, write, share lesson all about Noodle! We even saw his blue tongue!

03.01.2022 Learning In Action - Middles, Day 3: Writing Middles are loving their shared reading book for this term ‘Max and the Millions’ by Ross Montgomery. As they read through their book, they work together on improving their comprehension skills, expanding their vocabulary and linking the themes of this book with other Key Learning Areas!

03.01.2022 As a Josephite school, we take time each year to celebrate and honour Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop. This year is extra special because it marks the 10 year anniversary of Mary’s canonisation. It is through this week's celebration that we give hope for the future, keeping alive the vision and mission of Saint Mary of the Cross and the Sisters of St Joseph whose charism is reflected throughout our school community.
