24.01.2022 Look who had his first birthday yesterday- Donut! Now Duggie - starting to relax now in his new home and let go of his anxiety Great news!

24.01.2022 ********** NO MORE APPLICATIONS PLEASE *********** Indi has found her new forever home - YAY. SRV will be paying for her to attend a special course with Trish Harris of Four Paw K9 Training to help her with her reactivity issues. We will post a happy new beginning photo on the day she's adopted. ... INDI - 3 Yrs. (DOB 1/9/2017) M/C 953010002031564 Adoption fee $400 PLEASE SHARE Source no. RE100230 SINGLE DOG HOME NO CATS OLDER CHILDREN ONLY 10 Yrs.+ NEEDS SPECIAL TRAINING. EXPERIENCED STAFFORD OWNERS ONLY PLEASE READ ALL OF PROFILE IF INTERESTED. Hi my name is Indi, sadly I need a new home because I don’t get along with the other dog at my home. I’m dog reactive most probably because I never went to obedience school to learn how to socialise, which means I will need training to help me get over that issue, so please don’t apply for me unless you’re willing to put in the work that I need. I will need someone to adopt me that is an experienced Stafford owner. I’m trained to sit, shake hands, lay down, I don’t pull on the lead & wait for my food. I’m a very sweet and loving dog, I love people & I love to play, I’m very energetic and learn commands very quickly, I’m food driven so I’m easy to train. I’m scared of thunder storms and strong windy weather, so you will need to keep an eye on the weather as I will escape from the back garden if I get scared, it would be best if I go to a home where’s there’s a doggie door or an owner that is home a lot. If I go to a home with children it would be better if they are at least 10 Yrs. + old and not scared of dogs because I can accidentally knock them over, I don’t mean to, I’m just a brick on 4 legs like all Stafford’s are. I will make someone a wonderful companion and I promise I will do my best at obedience school to make you proud of me. So if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above in return I will give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for! Please go to Stafford Rescue Victoria’s website where you will find the Adoption Application. The link is in the comments below my posting. Please make sure you read all the information on the Adoption page, as well as the links at the bottom.

23.01.2022 We are looking for more foster carers to join our team! Covid restrictions means it is challenging to use our facility plus a foster home is a great place for a surrendered dog to transition to their forever home. Ben was lucky we could get him into his forever home straight from the pound but we don’t always have enough time to get everything organised so quickly. Foster carers are a vital part of our organisation so if you think you have what it takes please fill out the application on our website https://staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/become-a-foster-carer/

22.01.2022 The Blueboys calendar goes on sale today at 11am! Make sure you don’t miss out and order online https://darrenandphillip.com/ We are so grateful to be one of the rescue groups to benefit from the calendar sale proceeds Can’t wait to see what fun Dazzy and Phillip have had this time around!

22.01.2022 BRUNO UPDATE Not for adoption yet. Hi all, here’s a little update on Bruno who is still in foster care. Bruno is still a work in progress but learning to behave a lot better. He is still jumping up on people, so we doubt if he will ever be able to live with small children, he also gets very over excited. Bruno is in an area that is in stage 4 lockdown so it’s delaying getting his behaviour assessment done.... At the moment you’re not seeing many dogs up for adoption because they aren’t many being surrendered, no doubt because many people are working from home so their dogs are very happy and are behaving themselves. Rescue groups are dreading when people start returning to work because if owners haven’t put any distance training into action whilst being at home there will be a lot of dogs misbehave when their owners return to work. A lot of dogs have been adopted since Covid-19 hit, even pounds are adopting their dogs out at a fast rate. Although it is good for the dogs and rescue groups.

22.01.2022 HAPPY NEW BEGINNING BEN Here is Ben going home today with his new owners Kevin & Richard who have adopted from SRV before. Ben wasn’t posted on our website as Kevin & Richard were on our waiting list and were next in line for their perfect match. Sadly Ben needs a bilateral TECA (Total Ear Canal Ablation) which of course SRV will be paying for. He will have the procedure on the first ear in the very near future and then 6 weeks later the other ear will be operated on. ...He also has bad skin allergies which will hopefully improve in time. MFM have sent Kevin & Richard a 20 kilo bag of Salmon & Sardine Holistic dry food, a bottle of intestinal health & 2 bottle’s of purely pressed omega 3, 6 & 9 with added vitamins which will not only help his skin but will help build his immune system. So a HUGE thank you to Marcello at Meals for Mutts for helping Ben on his road to recovery. We’re not asking for donations, we would just like to let our wonderful followers know that their kind donations are used for poor dogs like little Ben. We will keep you all posted how he goes over the next few months. See more

12.01.2022 WE'VE REACHED OUR GOAL. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! PLEASE can you help with our fundraiser for Frank? PLEASE SHARE. ... Last Monday I received a call from a lady who was asking to surrender her dog, her vet had recommended she did this because Frank needed specialised surgery due to a ruptured cruciate ligament and his owners couldn’t afford to pay for the operation so they thought the only way to help Frank was to give him up, they were absolutely heartbroken, they really love their boy and didn’t want to surrender him but wanted him out of pain and to be happy again. I called a vet we’ve previously used for this procedure who kindly gave us discount, so SRV paid for the operation for Frank. The owners were over the moon not to have to give their lovely boy away and very grateful. Franks operation was last Thursday, it went very well, he needed more than the cruciate ligament fixed, his meniscus was also needing attention. We know that money is tight these days but we’re hoping some of you can donate a little to help with the vet fees which were just over $2500.00. Every $1 counts. If you can donate you can do so by direct debit into SRV’s donation account. BSB 013706 Account number 284245391. Please write your name/Frank as a reference. You can also donate via PayPal by going to our website https://staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/ and click onto donation. It’s tax deductable so please email [email protected] and ask for a receipt for the amount you’ve donated, you don’t need to do this if you use PayPal, you can use their receipt to claim on tax. A HUGE THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

12.01.2022 HAPPY NEW BEGINNING BRUNO Here is Bruno going home today with his new owners Glenn & Paula who have been waiting patiently for their new dog for some time now. Glenn & Paula adopted from SRV before but sadly their old boy passed away some time ago and they were ready for a new family member to join them. Bruno was cared for by Jade one of our foster carers for a few weeks, thank you Jade for doing a great job with him, we really appreciate it.... Bruno is a very good boy and will be going to obedience school as soon as they open up which we all hope is sooner rather than later! Hopefully we will see some happy updates of Bruno in the future. See more

12.01.2022 HAPPY NEW BEGINNING INDI Here is Indi going home today with her new owners Lynden & Arthur. Indi will be very happy in her new home not only with having a wonderful back garden to play in and new owners that are home a lot, she will also learn to gain her confidence around other dogs after attending a special training course with Trish Harris. After that Indi will then attend obedience school where we’re sure she will show how smart she is. I’m sure we will hear some happy updates in the future.

06.01.2022 UPDATE ON FRANK from the owners. We have had a few unsettled nights and Frankie is not too fond of having his photo taken. He is a sook! He is going well still getting used to his new food and not sleeping with mum. He goes back to the vet on Thurs for his bandages, then the following week it will be his stitches. I still can’t thank your followers enough for what they have done. You’re all angels. Thank you. xxx

05.01.2022 Most of you would have seen this beautiful video but for those who haven't we thought we would post it again. You had better get the tissues ready...lol.

05.01.2022 A HUGE THANK YOU to all our wonderful followers who donated towards Frank’s surgery. We’ve reached our goal and can’t thank you all enough. SRV have some wonderful supporters, we raised the funds for Frankie in 48 hours!! Frank is doing really well, his owners are overwhelmed with all your support, it’s absolutely amazed them how many wonderful people have helped and commented. Without all of you SRV wouldn’t exist and we definitely wouldn’t been able to help Frank.... This year hasn’t been the best for fundraising as all of you would know we can’t do any events which is sad because it’s always lovely to catch up with some of followers. Let’s keep all crossed we are back to a new normal next year and will see many of you again. See more

01.01.2022 HAPPY NEW BEGINNING WILLIS Here is Willis with his new family, Janette, Cameron (not in photo’s) and their daughters Holly & Andy. Janette and her family really love Willis, they take him on walks twice a day to the beach & along the river, so lots of different adventures for Willis which he loves, he loves his new family as well. We were able to do a slow introduction for Willis with him visiting his new home a few times and then eventually staying there, so it was a much ...easier transition for him. The previous owners felt much happier being able to take Willis to meet his new family as well as meeting them all. They can now move to their new home knowing Willis is in good hands and very happy, even though they will always miss him. Good luck Willis, we know you will be very happy with your new life.
