24.01.2022 Netball Never Sleeps Its difficult to even imagine Netball has come to a grinding halt due to the current circumstances but it has. So how can we continue to ...keep our Children living and breathing Netball when the switch has been turned off? For Parents with Children involved and registered for the upcoming season....buy a Netball. I checked and you should be able to get one online. Crazy as this sounds, you can even get a Netball Post (portable) online so why not? Chuck in 10 cones or dots aswell. Just remember to check ball size and post height in relation to the age of the Player. Got a wall? Get a ball. There are so many drills a Player can do passing to a wall. For starters....all the five passes: chest, shoulder, two-handed overhead, bounce and lob. Use that wall and practice, practice, practice. If you have a rebounding net available, drag it out of storage and use that. Using cones, set up small drills for fast feet and add a ball. Paint a ladder on your driveway or purchase a training ladder for fast feet activities. Set up timing drills using the ball and cones. Organise some circuits and maybe some resistance training. Add some Fartleks in there for fun (interval training). Balance cushions are also a great way to work on overall strength and are low impact for young Players. If you do get a Netball post, this will keep your little Netballer occupied for hours. Think outside the square and introduce activities to keep Netball alive and well at your house. Netball may have entered a dormant phase, but underneath this time of grey, are Netballers all over the globe practicing and having fun in their own space. Keep our game alive and remember Netball Never Sleeps. #netballneversleeps

23.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE: Qld Health have now updated the list of affected locations. Please check this list carefully as a number of places in the Mount Gravatt area are now on the list. 18.01.2022 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update For the information of our Metropolitan Districts Netball Association (MDNA) community, associated Clubs and members. The highest ...priority of MDNA, is the health and wellbeing of our players, officials, volunteers, staff, supporters and all other stakeholders. In response to the announcement made by the Prime Minister on 13 March, we have cancelled the MDNA Representative Carnival scheduled for Sunday, 22 March. With regards to Club training or other activities conducted on our premises, our current recommendation, as per government advice, is that this may proceed if less than 500 people are in attendance, with the following extra precautionary measures: no physical contact with athletes (eg. handshakes, hugging, kissing, taking selfies); and any person who is concerned about their health or is feeling unwell, should not attend training. Please note, standard recommendations to prevent infection spread of the virus include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. And avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing. More information on Coronavirus in Queensland is at https://www.health.qld.gov.au//diseas/diseases/coronavirus We will continue to closely monitor the situation and will follow the advice from the relevant Health, State and Federal authorities as well as Netball Queensland and Netball Australia. We will continue to provide further updates as changes to this advice occurs. We apologise in advance for the inconvenience, however the health and wellbeing of our MDNA players, staff, members and the wider community are a priority. We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding during this challenging time.

17.01.2022 It has taken until the end of August but finally all our teams have returned to training this week! A shout out to all our wonderful St Agnes Netball Club coaches! This season they have dealt with so many changes in training times, game times, game days, new safety rules around training and game days and not one complaint from any of them. They are the ones that make it possible for so many of our children to play netball each year.

17.01.2022 Crazy sock day was a real winner with the Sapphires!

14.01.2022 The Garnets have come along in leaps and bounds this year. Great season girls!

12.01.2022 TRAINING CANCELLED THIS AFTERNOON Due to the weather there will be no training for the Rubies and Pearls teams this afternoon.

12.01.2022 The draw for Monday night competition 7-9 year olds should be released tomorrow. We are waiting on NQ to fix and update a few things on the draw. Once they have done this we will be able to release the draw. We appreciate your patience and will have this out as soon as possible. Thanks

11.01.2022 Netball is going ahead today but today it is NOT the day to bring the family to Metro. We ask that supporter numbers are kept to a minimum e.g. one spectator per player. Stay safe!

08.01.2022 Energy Netball 30 Day Skills Challenge - (this is free everyone) Every day, for 30 days, a new skill will be posted on Energy Netballs Facebook page starting t...omorrow (Tuesday). Starring in the video will be me because of isolation reasons. Even if you dont participate in the challenge, check in for a chuckle Equipment: You (of course, and in active wear), runners, a few cones and a pumped Netball. You will also need a flattish concrete or bitumen surface to work on and a brick wall when we start passing off the wall skills. If youre a Coach wanting to give these skills a go at home (without anyone watching ) or a Player wanting to maintain or learn new skills, this is for you. Each skill will be a short video with an explanation verbal and written. These videos are not fitness based. Theyre designed to assist with correct technique and theres no better time than now to practice skills at home in readiness for the green light. Repetition of skills enables a Player to perform without consciously thinking about it. Consistent practice creates proactive behaviour and instant decision making. #energynetball30dayskillschallenge See you tomorrow

06.01.2022 Coronavirus (COVID-19) - CMT Update 18 March (9.30am)

06.01.2022 Members, Yesterday the MDNA Board announced that all MDNA netball activities would be suspended until after the Easter school holidays. The Board clearly indicated that they did not authorise or support any MDNA netball related gatherings at their facility until further notice.... After a discussion, our position is to support the stance taken by MDNA, in conjunction with advice from the relevant health authorities. As a result, all St Agnes Netball related training and activities will be postponed until further notice. This decision has been made with the health and well-being of our members and the broader community being our highest priority. We will continue to monitor the situation and be guided by advice from MDNA, Netball QLD and the relevant health authorities. Thank you for your understanding. St Agnes Netball Committee
