18.01.2022 Wool in the Home High in water and nitrogen content, wool is naturally flame-resistant. Wool does not melt, drip or to stick to the skin causing burns, and when... subject to extreme heat it produces less smoke and less noxious fumes. Gas, smoke, and toxic fumes are the most common cause of death following domestic fires. Fatalities are more likely to occur in rooms where soft furnishings are found, making it vital to choose the least flammable materials. Could your home use more wool? 12.01.2022 Why use wool insulation in your home? Here is the MD of ThermaFleece, Mark Lynn explaining some of the benefits to wool insulation. https://buff.ly/32VnUE9... NOISE REDUCTION Wool acts as a sound absorber and lowers noise transmission, significantly reducing noises that can be heard throughout a building. Sound absorption is important in both commercial and residential applications because it assists in creating a more pleasant environment. DURABLE & RESILIENT Due to British wool fibres being like a coiled spring they return to their original shape during long term use, and insulation can last the lifetime of the building.

05.01.2022 To celebrate UK and Japanese relations during the #RoyalVistJapan the campaign for wool created a product display to highlight wool and well-being at the Britis...h Embassy in Tokyo at an event which was attended by our Patron HRH The Prince of Wales. Research shows that wearing and sleeping on wool gives the user a better nights sleep due to the regulation of body temperature and moisture wicking, is better for eczema sufferers, and if used in products around the home such as carpets and furniture it removes VOCs from the air and improves air quality. 05.01.2022 I first visited West Cloven Hills for the shearing in 2012 and I always love the chance for a return visit, this year I especially enjoyed seeing the next gener...ation so involved. This year marks the 180th shearing for the Cole family shed, it could well be the oldest continually used Victorian woolshed. West Cloven Hills features prominently in my book, "Shearing in Victoria's Western District" and it's extremely likely they will be featuring again in my next book that will focus on these original sheds and their histories.
