24.01.2022 RBA emergency meeting today - at which they cut rates by another 0.25% to an all-time low of 0.25%. This follows their most recent cut only 2 weeks ago. This is the first time theyve made an emergency rate cut since 1997 and is a sign of the challenging times were in. Theyve cut rates to further stimulate the economy. Coronavirus is ..... having a very major impact on the economy and the financial system the RBA governor said. 02.01.2022 Understanding the factors that drive your interest rates - one of these is the cost of funds which is impacted in part by the RBA cash rate. While there is another RBA rate cut forecast by June were not expecting this at next weeks RBA meeting. Its currently looking more likely to be in April - June. However dont assume banks will pass on the full cut to borrowers - as the RBA cash rate get closer to zero weve been seeing banks passing on less of the RBA cuts.
