24.01.2022 Thanks so very much to Mel Taylor and Country Living Homewares and Flowers for brightening our residents day. How stunning!!!

18.01.2022 Attention Please read the new changes to the Covid-19 Emergency Management Direction from SA Health. As of Midnight December 1st, everyone MUST wear a mask, including Visitors. ANYONE entering the premises will need to be wearing a mask. This includes staff, visitors, volunteers and anyone else who wishes to enter.... Key changes as directed form SA Health from 1 December 2020: - Victoria has been included as a low community transmission zone, meaning that visitors from Victoria will be permitted to visit a RACF in South Australia without needing to self-quarantine. - Students have been explicitly included with employees, contractors and volunteers as being permitted to enter a RACF, providing they do not fall into a prohibited category. - Everyone onsite a RACF (excluding residents and children under 12 years) must wear a surgical mask (covering mouth and nose) at all times when in the physical presence of other people. - Anyone working at a RACF during an declared outbreak is prohibited from other employment for the duration of the prescribed self-quarantine period. We thank you once again for your co-operation, and help in keeping one another and our residents safe.

11.01.2022 Attention to our residents family and friends, We have updates following the new SA Health directions relating to the COVID-19 Lockdown. As of 12:01am on Sunday 22 November (Midnight Saturday) the SA Government has advised that the state will revert to similar restrictions that were in place on Monday 16 November 2020. What this means for our residents and visitors to Star of the Sea... (as of Monday 23rd of November): * We ask at this time that the residents remain on site, until we have received clear directions relating to this from SA Health and cases in SA are at zero. (please stay tuned for further updates on this) *Visiting hours will now revert back to be between 1-3 pm Monday to Friday, by APPOINTMENT ONLY. (please call 8823 0000) *Visits will be limited to TWO people for NO MORE than 30 minutes. *ALL visitors MUST have received the 2020 Influenza vaccination. We will keep this evidence on file for future visits. No vaccination history, NO entry into the building. *We would like to encourage ALL visitors to wear a mask when visiting. *Each visitor will need to sign a declaration prior to entry, which will include recording their temperature and providing a time that the visitors will be expected to leave the building. *No weekend visiting at this stage *Children are allowed to visit but are included in the two visitors per day per resident. *STRICT 1.5m apart from residents and staff at ALL times We thank you all for your co-operation and patients in these trying times. We are excited that we are able to allow visitors back in, but please remember if you are unwell please stay home.
