24.01.2022 Good Evening Star Dancers, 212 days later we are still unable to operate from a venue we lease. Even though dance is one of the most popular activities, the government have all but ensured the collapse of many dance schools through a litany of on-the-run policy decisions being made by bureaucrats with no understanding of the industry. While a large portion of regional Victorian businesses celebrate by opening their doors, nothing has changed for regional studios as they tea...ch online with empty buildings with no COVID cases in their towns all because dance schools have been categorised alongside gyms. Dance schools need to be reclassified immediately and especially those with students aged 18 and under to reopen in line with schools. 21.01.2022 Good Evening Star Dancers, With the great news of Victoria being a COVID free state today and the increase of numbers being allowed into the studio, we announce the following new series of mini-socials to ease back into dance. We have taken an extra week to be careful and respectful of the current terrain but we need to begin to take small steps forward and rebuild Star within VicSport rules.... I imagine this will be a temporary start for a couple of weeks until further relaxations occur, it’s the best we can do at the moment and we appreciate your support. 10.01.2022 I am sad to let you know that, this morning, Lorraine Jolly's daughter (Sarah) rang to say Lorraine died yesterday afternoon and she was ready to go. Her goal was September (after Sarah's birthday) so she made it to her goal. We appreciated all the help with catering and teaching at the Star over many years. Lorraine was a courageous and determined fighter and managed to outlive expected time-lines related to lung cancer by many months.
