24.01.2022 The STARTTS Multicultural Women's Social Group is looking for a sewing machine. If you know someone who would like to donate theirs to the group, it would mean a lot to the participants as this is a favourite hobby of many. We hope to have one before the group starts back face-to-face (which we hope will be before the end of the year) in some capacity.
24.01.2022 Multicultural Health Week has made some videos and fact sheets in different languages that talk about how IMPORTANT IT IS TO TAKE MEDICATION CORRECTLY. The videos can be found here: https://www.mhcs.health.nsw.gov.au//safe-use-of-medicines- They also have some fact sheets in different languages. 23.01.2022 From all of us at STARTTS, we are thinking about those of you who have family and friends in Beirut, Lebanon. We hope they are all well and safe.
20.01.2022 CAUTION!!! Right now, there is a phone scam. Someone may call you, pretending to be from the ATO (Australian Taxation Office). These people will say they have a legal case against you. These people are not telling the truth. The ATO will NEVER contact you by phone to tell you about legal proceedings. The best thing to do if this happens to you is to block the caller and ignore the calls.

07.01.2022 From all of us here at STARTTS, we would like to acknowledge that today is a day of profound significance for the Yazidi community. Today is Roja Resh (Black Day) and is the commemoration of the Yazidi genocide that happened on August 3rd, 2014 at the hands of ISIS. Due to the social restrictions this year, the community has not planned a large face-to-face commemoration. As Coffs Harbour folk, hopefully we can all come together and support our brothers and sisters by sendin...g them our love and letting them know we are here for them during this extremely difficult time. More information about Roja Resh and the Yazidi people: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocide_of_Yazidis_by_ISIL https://www.startts.org.au//startts_refugeetransitions33_w
