Someone in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me." But he said to him, "Friend, who set me to be a judge or arbitrator over you?" And he said to them, "Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions." Then he told them a parable: "The land of a rich man produced abundantly. And he thought to himself, 'What should I do, for I have no place to store my crops?' Then he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, 'Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.' But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?' So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God." Reflection You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be? We fight and have conflicts with each other over the properties and possessions that will remain in this world whereas we will not remain ... We fight and store what we are not entitled to store, we store things and our brothers/sisters are hungry, we store things and our brothers/ sisters are deprived of everything. And the Lord looks with sadness at the hardness of our thoughts, the hardness of our hearts and our greed. Even though He descended into our world, became like us, and gave the commandments of humility, love and service. Where are we in relation to His commandments?

And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant. Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name. His mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts. He has brought down the powerful from their thrones, and lifted up the lowly; he has filled the hungry with good things, and sent the rich away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, according to the promise he made to our ancestors, to Abraham and to his descendants forever." And Mary remained with Elizabeth about three months and then returned to her home. Reflection My soul magnifies the Lord. Mary rejoiced with the great work of the Lord that he had made with her, and sang a hymn that expressed her joy and thanksgiving, expressing her humility and the greatness of the Lord ... everything is from Him and for Him. He is the one who wanted to be incarnated through her .He who was willing to descend our earth and save all people, He who will judge the earth with His righteousness and save the believers with His love, He is the one who will leave his throne and carry the joy of heaven to our earth. Mary rejoices and gives thanks. She became the servant of the Lord and because she was humble He exalted her.

11.01.2022 Gospel of the day Tuesday 1/12/20 Luke 10:48-52 In the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit . Amen... In the course of their journey He came to a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. She had a sister called Mary, who sat down at the Lord's feet and listened to Him speaking. Now Martha, who was distracted with all the serving, came to Him and said, 'Lord, do you not care that my sister is leaving me to do the serving all by myself? Please tell her to help me.' But the Lord answered, 'Martha, Martha,' He said, 'you worry and fret about so many things, and yet few are needed, indeed only one. It is Mary who has chosen the better part, and it is not to be taken from her.' Reflection Jesus gently chides Martha about being too distracted and fretting about so many things that she risks losing sight of what is really important. We live in a world that is always so full of distractions. I ask the Lord to grant me insight into my own lifestyle, to know how to choose the better part that will not be taken from me.
