12.01.2022 Dear Members & Friends, Like all organisations and community groups across Australia our attention to detail and commitment to COVID-19 compliance are of great importance. While the health and safety of all people attending our church is paramount during these unprecedented times most of those who attend are recognised to be more vulnerable to the virus than members of the wider community.... With the identification of COVID-19 cases in Newcastle this week and the growing concern about the risk of contracting COVID-19 we all have a responsibility to be attentive to the health and safety needs of all involved and comply with NSW Government Health directives. We ask that anyone who has even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms to please refrain from attending church and get tested to ensure the safety of all those we love and hold dear. Take care everyone and hopefully we can all be together again soon.

It is one of the most important dates in the Greek Orthodox calendar, as the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos is celebrated. A religious day that marks the ‘falling asleep’ or ‘kimissis’ of Panagia, mother of Lord Jesus Christ. The Feast also commemorates the Assumption of the body of the Theotokos into heaven. Father Nichol...as Zervas will lead the commemoration service tomorrow as we celebrate Panagia and hope for better days ahead during this global pandemic. Happy name day to all celebrating tomorrow! !
