09.01.2022 Amandas fancy scissor work... To add a personalised texture, Amanda cuts by sliding the scissors while opening and closing the scissors; generally known as the slide cut ... or by sliding the scissors on face of hair bundle while opening the scissors; generally known as slicing. This is the technique forcreating long and short hairs for a unique texture tailored specifically for the clients style. There are many techniques to remove weight and add texture and slicing is by ...far, Amandas preferred method... Utilizing the correct tool is essential, and knowing the difference between thinning scissors and slicing with shears is essential. Both thinning shears and standard shears can remove weight and soften hard lines from the hair. The main difference between the two shears is that a thinning shear has teeth and the other shears dont. Standard shears gives Amanda the ability to stay in control of the amount of hair that is to be removed as opposed to a thinning shear that has teeth without being careful, a barber can run the risk of removing too much hair with a thinning shear. Its all about the texture and precision
