So if you would like to make a Telehealth appointment for your child, please call the clinic on (03) 8578 5661. #telehealth #paediatrics #allergy #eczema #unsettledbaby #behaviouralissues #foodallergy #hives #anxiety #constipation

24.01.2022 We would like to reassure families that we are still open! During the current lockdown period, we are here to continue to help support patients and their families with any Allergy or Paediatric concerns. You’ll be surprised how much can be done via Telehealth, as our doctors spend time assessing and managing the problem from the comfort and safety of your own home! We can send out relevant prescriptions, management plans or information as needed. We have appointments available within the next 1-2 weeks, so please call us on 03 85785661 to make an appointment for your child. Medicare rebates still apply for Telehealth appointments with a valid referral. #stemallergy #paediatrics #child #foodallergy #urticaria #eczema #hayfever #allergicrhinitis #behaviour #development #anxiety #schoolissues #babies #feedingissues #mentalhealth

24.01.2022 Due to the recent increase in Covid-19 cases within our community, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to mainly return to Telehealth for the majority of appointments. This is to help protect all of us. We will aim to provide the same level of clinical care for all of our patients during these challenging times. For those few who we still need to see in person, you will notice that we will now be wearing masks, as this is recommended practice. We still also require anyone who attends the clinic to only bring one parent or carer, with no siblings. Please stay away if anyone is unwell. Look after yourselves and please stay home if you can. We are all in this together!

22.01.2022 During such uncertain times, it is really important to think about how our children are coping with the disruption to routines and increased anxiety levels, so we can actively plan strategies to support them. The World Health Organisation has put these tips together, to help our children cope with stress during the current Covid-19 pandemic. #coronavirus #children #mentalhealth #anxiety #paediatrics #stress

21.01.2022 At Stem Allergy and Paediatric Specialists we love an excuse to eat cake! Today we had an early birthday celebration for one of our wonderful Paediatricians, Dr Tammy Goldwasser. The clinic will be closed next week as we all need a well-earned break, after such a crazy year so far! We hope Tammy has a wonderful birthday next week! We also hope all our patients and their families stay safe and well over the school holiday period. We will be continuing to offer Telehealth appointments as well as regular in-person appointments for the next few months, to help support the needs of our patients and their families. #stemallergy #paediatrics #babies #children #behaviour #eczema #hayfever #foodallergy #autism #adhd #schoolissues #infants #mentalhealth #anxiety #constipation #asthma

19.01.2022 *THUNDERSTORM ASTHMA WARNING* - Please be aware that there is a warning for those with asthma and/or hay fever for this Tuesday evening and Wednesday in Victoria, with thunderstorms and winds predicted to trigger possible thunderstorm asthma. This can cause severe symptoms in people with hay fever (grass pollen allergy) who may not have had asthma previously. Please stay indoors and treat symptoms early. For more information about Thunderstorm asthma, please see the ASCIA document attached. Also please look out for neighbours and loved ones who may need support.

17.01.2022 What better way to celebrate the end of the working year than with more cupcakes!! Goodbye 2020! Let’s hope for a better 2021

16.01.2022 #fluvaccine is safe for those with egg allergy. Multiple large studies have shown that the trace amount of egg protein in the vaccine does not increase risk of reactions. Our Australian Vaccine guidelines clearly outline that there are no special precautions needed regarding influenza vaccine in egg allergic individuals, with it safe to be given at the GP clinic. Now is the time to get the vaccine for everyone from 6 months of age (two doses needed for those under 9 years, one month apart, if having it for first time). Although it won’t prevent the current COVID-19 infection, influenza can also cause serious illness, so please contact your local GP to organise influenza vaccines as soon as possible. #influenza #eggallergy #vaccine

14.01.2022 **Important update on patient management at Stem Allergy and Paediatric Specialists** - with rapid changes and new recommendations, we are all trying to do our best to look after our patients while also ‘flattening the curve’ to reduce the rate of spread of infection and keeping everyone well. As such, we are rapidly setting up Telehealth as an option for patients who are unable to attend the clinic in person or prefer to stay home. Although it may not be an ideal option, it is definitely a safe option. Please call the clinic on (03) 85785661 to discuss Telehealth options for your child. #flattenthecurve #paediatrics #allergy #staywell

14.01.2022 All of us at @stemallergy would like to wish you a very happy easter/passover/long-weekend! Despite the challenges we are all currently facing, we hope you can enjoy this time with your family and loved ones. Please stay safe and well, while following the current recommendations to stay home. We will be back open on Tuesday, offering Telehealth appointments so we can minimise those who have to come into the clinic. #easter #passover #stayhome
