22.01.2022 Well, it's been a busy few weeks, but I finally found some time to finish off chapter 13. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season, and staying safe where needed :) I look forward to getting more writing done now that things have settled down, and it's nearly halfway through now. Onwards!

19.01.2022 Today, as I finished chapter 14 in two days, I realised that I should never try to finish a chapter in two days again. Brain hurt!

14.01.2022 Another two chapters done :) Past the halfway point now, an important milestone.

08.01.2022 I've had some inspiration for the cover art of this upcoming title, so I've spent the last few days getting this done. I'm not ready to fully reveal it yet, given there's a few more months of writing to do (including recording the audiobook) but I can show you part of it that shows the protagonist! After learning a few things about cover design during my brief period with a professional publisher, I've gone with a similar photorealistic style. My own style isn't especially g...ood with faces, and it's important to show character faces if you can. This one was put together with an assortment of stock images, plus a little Steve-brand photoshop magic ;) This is Zinada, a scavenger and survivalist in this post-apocalyptic colony world centuries in the future. She's quick, handy with all manner of tools, and brilliant at dismantling just about anything. She also has a terminal illness kept at bay by medicine she has to find in the ruins of high-tech cities, so living in a post-collapse world is super inconvenient for her. Now the cover is done, I'm back to work on chapter 15. Stay safe everyone!

04.01.2022 Chapter 12 is done, and the vibe is already different in the story. It's a fascinating experience taking my usual methods of writing a fantasy novel and seeing how it turns out differently in a science fiction context. Taking a van on a trip instead of horses or walking. Searching through ruined skyscrapers instead of some dungeon crawl. Fun!

03.01.2022 After a hectic and stressful couple of weeks (don't ask), I finally finished chapter 11. I consider this the end of 'act 1' of the story, as it were :) It's going very well I think! Probably end up being around 30 chapters overall, subject to change of course ;)
