25.01.2022 COVID-19 Health Alert

24.01.2022 Today, following expert health advice, we've announced that from December 1, our border restrictions with Victoria will be removed. Victoria has faced many challenges over the past few months, but has now managed to get on top of the virus. We acknowledge how difficult this period has been for many people particularly those who have been separated from their loved ones.... The reopening of the border will see families reunited and it will help stimulate our economy, boost tourism and create jobs. Finally, the return of standing hospitality is imminent with SA Health working extremely hard to have a government contact tracing check-in system up and running. Certain businesses will need to use the new system. This includes pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafes and other licensed venues. Once it's available and businesses have implemented it, standing hospitality will be allowed to resume immediately. Another update regarding changes to other restrictions that remain in place is expected after the Transition Committee meets next Tuesday, November 17. Thank you to all South Australians for the sacrifices you have made in this unprecedented year.

24.01.2022 It was a pleasure to hear recently from Premier Steven Marshall about coming back from COVID and the future of South Australia, thanks to the Property Council of Australia - SA. I'm pictured here with Owen Richards and Michael Hitch of BluBuilt, and Mark Stefanac of Thelem Consulting (and constituent of Morphett). BluBuilt are a great South Australian company that helped deliver the Minda Coast Park - a great landmark in our local community!

23.01.2022 The Marshall Liberal Government has opened the second round of cash grants for eligible small businesses and not-for-profits.

21.01.2022 It was an honour to lay a wreath on behalf of a grateful Morphett community in Moseley Square for the Plympton Glenelg RSL Sub-Branch Inc Remembrance Day ceremony this morning. Thank you to Tich Tyson from the RSL, Chelsea Carruthers for leading the ceremony, and Deputy Mayor of City of Holdfast Bay Bob Snewin for assisting in the organisation of the day. Lest We Forget.

21.01.2022 This week in Parliament I spoke about World Teachers Day - and gave a special shout out to the schools in my electorate as well as South Australia more broadly. Thank you to all the amazing teachers who do so much work to keep our schools and communities running!

20.01.2022 Great news Singapore Airlines have announced the extension of their cargo-only IFAM flights, through to 20 January 2021 These flights will leave Adelaide weekly, and will give our South Australian exporters more opportunities to send their produce and products around the world, creating jobs and boosting our economy If you’d like to get your products on one of these flights, learn more at: https://dti.sa.gov.au/coronavirus-cov/freight-and-logistics

15.01.2022 I want to give you an update on the swift and decisive action we're taking to further strengthen our medi-hotel system. Based on expert health advice, we will ...implement eight specific actions, including transferring all positive COVID-19 cases from medi-hotels to a dedicated health facility. We will also ensure that the security of this facility is exclusively provided by SA Police and SA Protective Security Officers. I want to point out that while the recent independent review by Ms Jane Halton AO PSM gave South Australia's medi-hotel system a gold star, there is never zero risk of transmission with this virus. It's a nasty, silent enemy. And as every day, week and month passes, we're learning more and more about it. That's why we will not miss any opportunity to review our systems in real time and act. And these eight actions are an example of just that. I also want to highlight the wonderful work our front line staff have been doing right across the state. Your hard work and dedication is critical in keeping SA safe and strong Thank you.

12.01.2022 A few weeks ago (pre-circuit breaker) I joined Hon David Pisoni MP at the launch of the Creative Industries sector strategy. The strategy is a plan from industry, backed by Government, outlining how we're going to grow the sector to $2.1 billion by 2030! See the highlights from the launch below. ... https://youtu.be/u3eIq8UcASk

07.01.2022 We all know South Australia is the defence state - but we're quickly becoming the cyber state too! Read about how these industries are growing and creating the jobs of tomorrow for South Australians: https://bit.ly/36wlPjb
