21.01.2022 About time! What do you think should replace the Cockburn Faces?

19.01.2022 For the first time in 10 years we are at a point where we may not field a men’s side. We are very short on numbers & this Tuesday’s training session will be the... big decider. If you’re on the edge and not sure if you want to play now is the time! Everyone is treated equal no matter fitness, skill or age at Coolbellup and everyone is welcome. We are only 6 or so weeks away from round one. If you are a current player or you plan on playing you must turn up at Lakeland Reserve on Tuesday. 5:30pm. Hope to see you all then for the sake of this great club. PLEASE SHARE!!!

14.01.2022 Energetic, intelligent and charismatic that describes both Yaz Mubarakai MLA and David Scaife - Labor for Cockburn. Premier Mark McGowan launched their campaigns today for Cockburn and Jandakot and spoke about the importance of electing them to the Parliament so that he can continue the work of keeping Western Australia safe & strong. It was great to see Pierre Yang MLC, Dr Jags - Labor for Riverton and Geoff Baker for South Perth as well.

10.01.2022 Had a great time this morning at the Palmyra Western Farmers Markets at Lisa O'Malley MLA’s stall. Lisa is a fierce advocate for the community she represents in the seat of Bicton. Had some great conversations and my kids loved the live music and the animal farm.

10.01.2022 Construction is steaming ahead on the METRONET Thornlie-Cockburn Link. Today a 120 tonne piling rig started drilling 156 eighteen metre deep holes at the Ranfor...d Road Station site. 08.01.2022 After 8 years, I have made the difficult decision not to re-contest my position as Central Ward Councillor for the City of Cockburn. With a young family and an increasingly busy job, it came down to whether I was able to fully commit the time that was required of an Elected Member. I have thoroughly enjoyed my two terms at Cockburn with notable highlights including community projects such as the Cockburn ARC, the Bibra Lake Adventure Playground and uniting the community to ...fight against forced amalgamations. I have also made some incredible friendships that I know will extend beyond my time as a Councillor. I feel extremely privileged to have represented the Central Ward. Thank you for following my journey over the years. I appreciate all the support, feedback and input I have received. I urge all of you, no matter where you live, to have your say in the upcoming Local Government elections. It is vital your voice is heard so you have the best possible representation for your local community. At the end of this month, a fresh face will be taking on this important role and I wish them all the best. Thank you! Councillor Pratt

06.01.2022 It was great to have my family at my last Council meeting. It’s truly been a pleasure serving the Cockburn community. Councillor Pratt signing off....

04.01.2022 Exciting announcement today

03.01.2022 As the pandemic continues around the world, the threat of a COVID-19 outbreak in Western Australia is something that we need to be prepared for. Even if it's un...likely, it's vital that we have the protections in place that we need for the worst case scenario. So, in line with health advice, from 5 December, particular WA venues and businesses will be required to maintain mandatory contact registers to support COVID-19 contact tracing. These records will ONLY be used for the purpose of contact tracing, should it be required, and will only be kept for 28 days. Businesses or venues required to keep a contact register include: Food and licenced venues (restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs, taverns, nightclubs) Gyms, indoor sporting centres and pools Places of worship and funeral parlours Beauty and personal care services including hairdressers and barbers Galleries and museums Cinemas, theatres and other entertainment venues Auction houses and real estate inspections Community facilities, libraries and halls Zoos and amusement parks Function centres Accommodation facilities that already have check-in arrangements in place (i.e. hostels, hotels, large camp grounds) The details required for the contact register will include the date, arrival time, names and telephone numbers. Any person aged 16 years and over who attends a business, place or premises, listed above, including patrons, staff, volunteers and contractors will be required to register their contact details. Records are not required to be collected for people collecting takeaway or children under 16 years. To help make checking in to venues as easy as possible and reduce the burden on businesses, we've released a free app, SafeWA. SafeWA is a digital COVID-19 contact register system, which uses unique QR codes for venues that patrons can scan to register their attendance. You can get the app now on Android or iPhone at https://safewa.health.wa.gov.au The app is a free, easy, contactless solution, but it is not mandatory. Alternative formats for contact registers are available, including other electronic tools or a paper-based system, depending on what is suitable for the business, venue or individual. This step to reintroduce contact registers was considered in consultation with industry and business to establish a long term strategy to keep our State safe, given the ongoing impact of the virus internationally. More information on contact registers and the SafeWA app can be found at www.wa.gov.au/safewa We've done so well as a State - and we've achieved so much by following the advice and working together. Contact registers might not always be convenient, but we know that in the event of an outbreak they would make a huge difference. Together, by following these guidelines staying vigilant, we can keep WA safe and strong.

03.01.2022 Over the next four years, the WA Government is set to commence $27.1 billion of new infrastructure projects, including schools, hospitals, roads, rail, ports an...d more. To get those 1,430 projects done, we’re going to be creating a lot of jobs for local workers and businesses who will be given first priority under our WA Jobs Law. But we need those businesses and workers to be ready for those opportunities - so we’ve just launched the WA Pipeline of Work The Pipeline of Work tracks those upcoming projects and helps WA businesses know what they need to do to be ready to take up those contracts, well in advance. Find out more at https://www.wa.gov.au/pipeline-of-work
