19.01.2022 COVID-19 update for Thursday 13 August.

19.01.2022 Again this year I was invited to be a judge for the Darling Range Learning Community Citizenship Project. It's never an easy task with so many fabulous projects put forward by our Year 6 students! Last night was the Award Ceremony to acknowledge the winners for 2020. I congratulate everyone that received an award last night! I was privileged to be able to present the Special Commendation award to Bethany for her school uniform project.... Thanks to Bethany’s Mum, Crystal for the photo. In case you missed Crystal's post in 'Only in High Wycombe!' Bethany would like to encourage any year 6 families that don’t have siblings to please donate your uniforms to your school.

19.01.2022 It was great to be able to take the Premier, Mark McGowan to visit Advantage Pharmacy High Wycombe, proud supporters of Path Of Hope Foundation. They are a collection point for Christmas presents for women and children who are being displaced in our community from the affects of violence of a domestic nature. Please give generously! #16DaysInWA

19.01.2022 Funded by the State Government and delivered by Communicare, Breathing Space provides a residential service for men who have been violent in family relationships but want to change their ways. Breathing Space provides an opportunity for men to take responsibility for their use of violence and abuse. The program makes the perpetrators of domestic violence accountable for their behaviour and provides the support they need to change. This is good for men who want to change and ...for the people in their lives. #16DaysInWA

This is part of a comprehensive packages of reforms and initiatives delivered by the State Government to increase the sa...fety of woman and children. #16DaysInWA

18.01.2022 Covid-19 update for Friday 11 September.

18.01.2022 Its been a long time coming but the upgrades to the Hale Road and Woolworths Drive intersection are finally complete - another election commitment delivered! This has been a joint project involving not only the State Government but also the City of Kalamunda and Federal Member, Ken Wyatt.

18.01.2022 An important message from Premier Mark McGowan on the Mineralogy State Agreement and Clive Palmer.

18.01.2022 The McGowan Labor Government is serious about stopping family and domestic violence. That’s why we changed the Residential Tenancies Act 1987 to better meet the needs of tenants experiencing family and domestic violence. Victims can now choose to stay or leave their tenancies and if desired, make their rental homes safer with timely access to lock changes and other security upgrades. It’s practical changes like these that help survivors of family and domestic violence to f...eel safer and more supported. #16DaysInWA

17.01.2022 Today is WA Small Business Day. Growing up, my parents were small business owners. Like all small business owners they worked hard and supported their local community. This year has been hard for our local small businesses, so that’s why we need to give them our support.... I pledge to continue to support our local small businesses - buying a coffee at my local coffee shop and choosing our local butchers. Give a shout out in the comments to local small businesses!

17.01.2022 We have rolled out the $1 million WA Respectful Relationships Teaching Support Program pilot, supporting school staff to teach students about domestic violence prevention. By teaching students about healthy and positive relationships and by implementation of a whole-of-school approach to violence prevention, we’re making sure WA students have a better understanding of preventing, identifying and stopping family and domestic violence. #16DaysInWA

07.01.2022 The McGowan Labor Government is delivering on our commitment to establish two 'one-stop hubs' to make it easier for victims of family and domestic violence to access services. These one-stop hubs will provide a specialist service for women and families experiencing family and domestic violence. They will bring support services together and wrap them around those who need them using a 'one-stop' approach. This model, which is new to WA, will make it easier for women and childr...en impacted by family and domestic violence to get help sooner in a safe space within their own community. #16DaysInWA

05.01.2022 Great morning out doorknocking with Peter Tinley AM talking about the McGowan Governments Recovery Plan for WA. Thanks to everyone that took the time to chat with us.

05.01.2022 COVID-19 update for Wednesday 12 August.

05.01.2022 We’re investing $9.6 billion through the State Budget to strengthen WA’s health system, ensuring Western Australians have access to world class healthcare. This includes a record $306 million in additional funding towards mental health services across our state. Our budget keeps our health system strong to protect the health of our community, while we continue our world-leading response to the threat of COVID-19.

04.01.2022 Established in 2017, the McGowan Government’s RSPCA Pets in Crisis Program helps women and children fleeing domestic violence, by temporarily fostering out their pets while they get back on their feet. We know that some women stay in violent relationships because they can't take their pets with them and fear they'll be hurt or killed. By providing temporary foster care for their pets, we’re providing practical help to support them on their path out of violent relationships. #16DaysInWA

04.01.2022 It was great to have Guide Dogs WA at Parliament House this evening. A wonderful organisation which needs your support. This is a gorgeous puppy guide dog called Vikki. #GuideDogsWA

04.01.2022 COVID-19 update for Wednesday 19 August.

04.01.2022 Important update from the Premier on WA's hard border

04.01.2022 On Remembrance Day, we come together as a community to reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who gave their lives to defend our freedoms. We observe one minute’s silence on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month each year to honour those who lived and died during WWI and in other wars and conflicts involving Australia’s armed services. The Kalamunda RSL will be holding a Remembrance Day service at the Kalamunda War Memorial from 10.45am.... I encourage members of our community to show their respect for those who have served in the Australian defence forces by observing one minute’s silence.

03.01.2022 Family and domestic violence is an awful reality for too many women and children in WA. It can have serious and ongoing impacts on their health, including physical injuries, poor mental health, reproductive health problems, harm from alcohol or other drugs and - in the most tragic cases - death. That’s why we’re building two new women’s refuges in Perth - in Peel and Kwinana - providing vital specialist services for women and children escaping violence.... #16DaysInWA
