18.01.2022 Over the past three weeks at Stepping Stone Brooklyn Park, we have been celebrating Christmas! The children were given books from Santa, made gifts for their families, participated in Christmas activities and listened and responded to Christmas music The children have also participated in art experiences related to Christmas including painting a cardboard Christmas tree and Christmas collages with glitter glue. We also enjoyed some patterning with loose parts to form Chris...tmas trees as well as Christmas cookie cutters with play dough. The Children and Educators each had a day with a special lunch to celebrate Christmas. These experiences extended upon the Children’s interests and learning about Christmas celebrations. Merry Christmas from the Brooklyn Park Stepping Stone Team!

17.01.2022 This week at our Tea Tree Gully centre, we celebrated National Children’s Week! This year’s theme is: Children have the right to choose their own friends and safely connect with others. To celebrate this throughout the week, we focused on ‘Our Friends'. We explored with children what they like to do most and who they like to do this with. We discussed the importance of friendships and what friends mean to us

On Wednesday morning, we attended the service where we listened to The Ode of Remembrance, The Last Post and Prayers for the Fallen Soldiers. 14.01.2022 At Stepping Stone Kidman Park, the children in the Bumble Bee room have been busy creating beautiful artwork for Christmas and the Summer time All the children were given the opportunity to create their own artwork, helping to develop a sense of belonging in their room where it is displayed. 04.01.2022 At Stepping Stone Hewett, we have been very lucky to purchase a piece of beautiful artwork for the centre. Thank you to local artist Tamika Gollan for your representation of the Kaurna Land Through acquiring the art piece, we have made a talking point that will enable us to promote a sense of local community within the early childhood setting and build connections between the two environments.

01.01.2022 At Stepping Stone Tea Tree Gully, we have been further embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education into our program to celebrate NAIDOC week. The kindy children enjoy listening to the Dreamtime story ‘How the birds got their colours’ and asking questions about Australian culture and history. The children used art materials to create their own birds from the story and this topic opened a conversation about kindness of the birds and each other The children enjoyed looking at Dreamtime stories in the teepee near the bonfire display and we also learnt about Aboriginal symbols. The kindy children were very excited to create Aboriginal symbols in the sand using their hands.

01.01.2022 At Stepping Stone Evanston, we had a busy day last Friday fundraising for two very special causes. Our centre has one casual day per month as a staff team to raise funds for the CFS. This was decided at the start of the year due to the extreme fires we had that it was a great cause to get behind. If staff would like to wear casual clothes as they did on Friday, they need to bring to work a gold coin donation to do so and its goes directly to the CFS We also celebrated National Bandanna Day on Friday and as you can see, plenty of our Educators and children wore their colourful bandanas in support! We are selling a merchandise box at the front of the centre for $5 each to purchase and wear, raising funds for children sadly diagnosed with cancer.

01.01.2022 Stepping Stone Evanston and our entire team would like to wish Sue a very Happy 60th Birthday for earlier this week! Sue has been at our centre since our opening. We celebrated Sue's special day with plenty of cake and presents!
