25.01.2022 What a great win for the parents of Panton Hill Preschool - they refused to give up - the preschool has been saved and 2021 is looking a lot brighter now for the kids.

19.01.2022 We need to talk about council finances. If you haven't read the Round-about Community Newspaper yet, get yourself a copy and head to page 7. The current council has clocked up a record deficit (only 3 of 16 councils are running deficits) - a shortfall of about $26 million. Expenditure vastly outstrips revenue seeing council borrow millions more and cash reserves have dropped at an alarming rate. I fear a pro-development run council will push for damaging and inappropriate use of land in the Green Wedge to fund this deficit. This is not the way forward. I support rates remaining low and capped. But we urgently need to rein in wasteful spending. I stand for sensible, sustainable financial management of council finances, focusing on providing the services we need (Graph below is per property).

09.01.2022 Local Food Connect gave me a big tick of approval for supporting sustainable, regenerative, environmentally sensitive farming. Farming that will invigorate our rural communities; provide nutritious, fresh local food for our shops, restaurants, farm gates and markets. Many would have seen and been inspired by the possibilities of regenerative farming techniques showcased by Charles Massy. With a dedicated Agribusiness Advisory Committee to council, we could better explore these ideas and support our farming community. If you are interested, watch Massy's Tedx https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et8YKBivhaE
