24.01.2022 Steve is immensely proud and honoured to be the Director of Dog Training for the Defence Community Dogs and recently there was a grand official ceremony at the Bathurst Correctional Centre for two talented graduates! With the help of Corrective Services NSW and inmates of Bathurst Jail, Mocha and Brady completed their training and are now ready to help return soldiers suffering from PTSD.

22.01.2022 This is Katie, my own puppy. A very special puppy; you could say one in a million. She has the traits I like in abundance. But we're actually lucky she is still with us. She picked up a paralysis tick at nine weeks of age and it wasn't found immediately. It was the middle of winter, you'd think it would be safe from ticks. We also felt that she was too young to start her on parasite prevention treatments. How wrong we were!! Our friend and Vet at Boehringer, Julie S...ummerfield, introduced us to their latest product, Nextgard Spectra. We should have had Katie on it from Day 1 with us. It's a monthly chew product that protects against: ticks, fleas, heartworm, mites and intestinal worms. It's so much easier having it all in one monthly chew, rather than having to keep track of several different products to do the same job. Katie is on Nextgard Spectra now and will be for the rest of her life; as are all of our dogs. It's so important to us to know that are dogs are protected, especially when working in the Australian bush protecting our native flora and fauna. Our thanks to Jane Rickard and her team at Hills District Veterinary Hospital and Julie Summerfield at Boehringer.

22.01.2022 Vicki will be talking to Laura Tchilinguirian on Sydney ABC radio (702) this morning after 9:30 am. They'll be talking about how to help dogs and puppies cope with their families returning to school and work, after being home with them constantly during lockdown and working from home.

18.01.2022 Check out Ziggy one of the new affluent detection dogs for Sydney Water! Ziggy is a working line Springer Spaniel and Winnie the Cocker Spaniel in the background, is also trained to detect effluent. Look at the sheer joy of both the dog and handler Bettina Greive when Ziggy is successful! Who said you can’t have fun at work! Watch how Ziggy does not pay any attention to Bettina because her reward drive and hunt drive is so strong. Steve is extremely pleased with Bettina, Ziggy and Winnie. Both does are field efficient for effluent detection and are now helping to keep our waterways and oceans from of pollution.
