24.01.2022 Stirling is a special place where the threads of community are closely interwoven, making it a wonderful place to live, work and shop. Our local traders take pride in their businesses and have strong links with the community. Plus, they are wonderful people who are truly invested in creating a vibrant village for us all to enjoy. Stirling IS their business. In this new series we aim to give you some fun facts about the people behind the businesses. Here we go... #1 Heidi Ro...llins Cocos Hair and Day Spa My connection to Stirling goes way back as my husband’s family owned the famous Oak Tree Deli and fish and chip shop in the 1970s I feel privileged to own the 120 year old stone home that now houses Cocos Hair Salon and Day Spa You’ll often find me with my family enjoying dinner at Locavore Adelaide Hills I enjoy my short and pretty commute to Stirling from my home in Aldgate Like many hills dwellers I love to garden and I grow fruit and veggies for my family and friends Summer is my favourite season in Stirling as it’s cooler than anywhere else in SA and I love the long evenings The business is called Cocos as my parents’ term of endearment for me when I was young was ‘my little Coco’

22.01.2022 It's fabulous to see Stirling Laneways back underway for 2020/21. Let's all stay COVID safe and have a lovely day out

22.01.2022 Meet Allison, local resident and owner and creator of the brand new Kokoa - Home, Lifestyle and Gifts in Stirling. Allison's beautiful new store is a sheer delight, located just off the main street on Garrod Crescent. We think that's the face of someone who loves what she does! Open Wednesday to Saturday and Market Sundays - head in and say hello soon!

22.01.2022 You know the businesses, but do you know the people behind them? Let us help with some fun facts about our wonderful traders as part of our ‘Stirling IS my business’ series #3 Desirée Farrer Tara's Folly I’ve been living in the hill’s community for 22 years. My husband Steve and I love to attend the amazing productions at the Stirling Community Theatre.... My mother was a Gone with the Wind fan and the ‘Tara’ name plaque from the end of the driveway of my childhood home now has pride of place above the counter in Tara’s Folly. I love all the seasons in Stirling, it is an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colour. Fashion is my passion! I love to think and dress "outside of the square" which is reflected in my boutique. Head on in for a truly atmospheric shopping experience at Tara's Folly.

19.01.2022 It's super exciting to see the return of Patch Kitchen & Garden next weekend. Check out the entertaining program they have devised to celebrate their re-opening with the community. It all kicks off next Friday 30th October. Welcome back Patch!

17.01.2022 Here's the second instalment in our 'Stirling IS my business' series to give you some fun facts about the people behind the businesses in Stirling... #2 - Kerry Bellosguardo Stirling Hire I'm married to Peter, and in April 2020 we marked our 10th year of operation at Stirling Hire.... We live in Birdwood and have three grown children and three grandchildren. We love gardening and have a huge vegetable garden. My father (Bert Flugelman) was a sculptor and made the iconic balls in Rundle Mall. Our son Steven is carrying on the family tradition with public art and sculpture. After the summer’s bushfires we donated out all our generators, including even the one from home! A local magpie comes into the shop every day and warbles at the counter to say hello. Stirling Hire has the equipment for just about everything, from log splitters to excavators. We don’t know about you but we think some of their diggers look quite fun!

17.01.2022 We love the mix of independent and unique businesses in Stirling and here's a wonderful new one - Max Milan Stirling. This one's for all the fellas out there with quality fashion and accessories for men. This is such a pretty shop and now it's a destination for men on a mission to look good! Welcome Max Milan!

17.01.2022 After a very topsy turvy week Stirling Laneways has received the green light to go ahead this weekend. It might be the 5th Sunday of the month, but in 2020 it's all about adaptability! It's also looking good for the Stirling Market to proceed but please check their socials for confirmation.

10.01.2022 There is a definite spring vibe in the hills today, and this means it's the season return of Stirling Laneways just around the corner. Laneways kicks off again on Sunday 27th September. Full of all sorts of goodies as well as an ever-changing line-up of entertainment, Stirling Laneways is a lovely day out and a great way to explore our beautiful village. You just never know what you'll see or who you'll bump into! See you there.

06.01.2022 Curious...? The Stirling Business Association is turning this ugly duckling space on the main street into a new community pop-up park with plantings and seating for public use. The laneway will become pedestrian only, but there will still be 5 other entry points into the carpark for vehicles. Naturally the all access carpark is being relocated. We are working with the property owner, Adelaide Hills Council, local businesses and community groups to make this vision a reality, and it will be rolled out over the coming months. We'll post progress updates as we go.

06.01.2022 Stirling local Desiree has renamed her destination boutique in the main street from Mylk to Tara's Folly as a tribute to the family home she grew up in called Tara. You'll even find the sign from the bottom of the driveway hanging above the counter. The shop refit is lovely - decorative and ornamental just like an architectural folly, but unlike a true folly we think buying beautiful clothes is also extremely practical! Shopping here is an experience - put it on your to do list.

05.01.2022 We hope our community is doing ok this year. We also hope that everyone is aware there is support available from The Hut Community Centre if you need it
