22.01.2022 All action at the theatre on the weekend with WICKED SISTERS bumpin under the eagle eye of our esteened director, Megan Dansie!

22.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago, we took the brave step of going public with the threat to our future after insufficient nominations were recieved for our 2020 committee at our AGM. Since then, this news has galvanised the community into a discussion of how important companies like ours are to the wider Adelaide theatre scene. We are thrilled with the response. As the saying goes, what a difference a day makes. On Monday this week, we gained commitment from several people to nominat...e for the committee when a Special Meeting is held on 23 April to formalise our future. There are others in the wings. Three members of the current committee will be continuing. We now see exciting times ahead. And it's not too late to get on board. If you, or any of your theatre friends, are interested in being actively involved in taking The Stirling Players in a new direction, this is your chance! Email your interest or queries to [email protected] In the meantime come and see WICKED SISTERS! OPENING NIGHT TONIGHT. Runs weekends until 21 March. Another great production from us. With more to come... Book at http://www.stirlingplayers.sct.org.au or phone 7481 6152

Let us know if you would like to join other Stirling Players on the night. More details here...https://tasaonline.org.au//2019-theatrical-awards-night-2/

18.01.2022 "I was looking at how my life was turning out to be, and it wasn't how I expected!"... Donna Ward reflecting on her memoir on a different kind of stage today. She could have been one of Alma de Groen's WICKED SISTERS. And interviewer Charlotte Wood's latest novel, "The Weekend", is about what happens when a group of women and too much wine collide in a storm of painful memories and longburied hurts! It was like a Writers' Week promotion for The Stirling Players! ... And very timely. WICKED SISTERS brings women like these to life from tomorrow night! Come and see for yourselves 6 - 21 March. 10.01.2022 What could have been more appropriate on opening night than a surprise wedding supper complete with bride and groom cutting the cake? A few nerves, as to be expected, but Christine sorted Bernard out, as usual. A great treat for the audience/guests and a time for the the cast/family to celebrate! Rob Andrewartha's superb cake was delicious.

We look forward to seeing the film soon, but the first showing will be to Sailesh's examiners! We wish him all the best.

06.01.2022 It's the 1960s. One family. Two events. One happy. One not so. In CELEBRATION that means 14 actors needing a lot of costumes! 02.01.2022 Great Opening Weekend of our Dinki-Di Double Bill of two delightful Aussie plays live on stage! And to think only six months ago we were meeting on Zoom, with no idea of when we could reopen our doors. A great production team effort in support of director Bronwyn Chapple and her cast, Andrew Aitken, Rebecca Gardner, Georgi Clough, Maxine Grubel, Malcolm Walton and young Lochie 'Banjo' Daniel. Front of House, with Covid conditions observed, the fires were lit, flowers arranged, good wines served and complimentary sherries on offer. Just like old times. No wonder patrons said they loved being back in our beautiful theatre. It was something to celebrate and we'll do it all again this weekend, with 3 sold out shows!

02.01.2022 Imagine "Waltzing Matilda" written by an 1890s ad agency for an important client? It's what Ian Austin does in "Down Came a Jumbuk", his delightful dig at our national icon. We think it's a great little play to return to the stage with, and a lovely companion to Lissa Beyon's gentle spoof on earnest environmentalists, "The Margarine Conspiracy". ... See these two Aussie shorts in our DINKI-DI DOUBLE BILL, directed by Bronwyn Chapple, running 6-15 November at The Stirling Community Theatre. 6 shows only and Covid-safe seating, so book early!
