25.01.2022 10 rounds down and 13 to go. This is a lot bigger then the original pattern as the original uses cotton thread and I’m using a thin 8ply wool and obviously a bigger hook, 3.5mm compared to 1.75mm hook. Yes size definitely does matter when it comes to crocheting this is a bit more complicated then the Pineapple Peacock shawl I made but the learning to read patterns is slowly paying off I love making doilies, their complexity when finished is kind of mind boggling even though you work them in rounds instead of rows #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaustralia #crochetdoilies #crochetpatterns #crochetaddict
23.01.2022 Mandala finally finished safe to say I’ve run in the ends and this one isn’t going to be frogged like my first mandala. Measuring in at apx 48cm #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetlove #crochetmandalapattern #crocheting #mandalascrochet #crochetart @ Merrylands, New South Wales, Australia
18.01.2022 And more progress #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetlove #crochetmandala #mandalascrochet
18.01.2022 It’s weird doing a round and ending on the wrong side to start the next round. This is a mobius shawl it has a twist in it to create a beautiful drape at the front. I have finished the pink peacock shawl and once I have blocked it I will post photos. The peacock shawl has truly turned out beautiful #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetshawl #yarn #yarnlove #mobiusshawl #superthickyarn #chunkyyarn #chunkyyarnlove #sydney
17.01.2022 Another mandala I’ve modified the pattern by changing the stitch sizes and I’ve gone down hook sizes making it more dense. This is going to be the second part of my dream catcher #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetmandala
16.01.2022 Temptation got the better of me this is number 3 on the hook I bite the bullet tonight and decided I’d give graph crochet patterns ago. It was daunting at first (and let’s be honest it still is ) but I haven’t had to frog my work so far I’m going to do a future post and do a run down on graph crocheting patterns. I’m still learning but if it gives someone the confidence to try something out of the square then that’s a win for me and you #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetbeginner #werealllearning #graphcrochet
14.01.2022 All the bloody colours in my sewing box except the one I need
13.01.2022 Progress piccy I’m around 3/4 of the way through this mandala and absolutely loving it it’s tried my patience a few times when I’ve had to undo a round and a half but I’m still loving how it’s turning out I can’t wait to mount it on a hoop and see the end result added bonus with the leftover cotton I’m going to make into snowflakes which will look adorable on a Chrissy tree #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetlove #crochetmandala #crochetsnowflake
13.01.2022 Mandala finally finished I’ve just got to mount it into a hoop #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetmandala
12.01.2022 Round 2. Tunisian crocheting. I’ve opted for a single colour (Dusty pink) and a different stitch which is coming out nicer but I wasn’t happy with the size of the stitch. This was done on a 5.5 hook #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetlove #tunisiancrochet #learningnewskills
12.01.2022 Have you looked at a yarn label and seen the cartoon ball of wool with a number inside of it? They can be a bit confusing if you don’t know what your looking at. What does that number mean? That number indicates the thickness of the yarn that you are using. In the example photos I’m using there is a number 6 this indicates that the yarn is super bulky or approximately a 14-16 ply. In the other photo it’s a number 4 which indicates that it’s worsted or approximately 10-1...2 ply. Even though the number is cute and catchy, it’s not the most accurate way to categorize your yarn. Each number is actually a category that contains a group of thicknesses. When selecting yarn for a project, you want to make sure you’re getting the right number of stitches per inch. Since the number represents a range of yarn thicknesses, seeing a ‘4’ on the yarn label doesn’t guarantee you’ve found the right thickness! You want to make sure that your yarn works up to the right number of stitches per inch. #yarn #yarnaddict #yarnlove #yarnspirations #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetlove #crocheting #yarnweights #crochetbeginner
07.01.2022 I brought Tunisian hooks months ago (gotta love eBay specials ) and I’ve finally decided to attempt to use them and honestly I’m loving it! It looks complex but it’s so far super easy! This will eventually be a pocket shawl I’m not to sure on the white with the pink though it kinda works #tunisia #tunisiancrochet #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #pocketshawl @ Merrylands, New South Wales, Australia
07.01.2022 So much happier with how this mandala is turning out compared to my first one the colours are coming together a lot nicer as well I think it’s a bit hard to see the pattern on the light background so I’ll take another picture tomorrow on a black background #crochet #crocheting #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetmandala
04.01.2022 Peacock shawl now being blocked I’m super happy how this has turned out it’s just gotta dry now and then it’ll be up for sale #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #yarn #yarnaddict #peacockshawl
04.01.2022 Not much progress from the last pic but this shows the pattern a lot more then the pic I’m loving how this one is turning out to the point that I’m undoing my first crochet mandala I was but I wasn’t happy with my first one #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetlove #crochetmandala
03.01.2022 Super proud of how far I’ve come with this shawl. It’s my first time reading detailed crochet patterns and I’ve only had to frog it once #crochet #crocheting #crochetersofinstagram #crochetshawl #crochetaddict #sydney @ Merrylands, New South Wales, Australia
01.01.2022 Finally halfway 12 rounds, a 32cm diameter and it’s starting to take shape. A few things I would definitely consider for the next one but I won’t know for sure until I’ve finished and mounted the mandala. For my first mandala I’m super happy and kinda addicted to making them The pic with the tape measure is closest to the true colour of the cotton. #crochet #crochetersofinstagram #crochetaddict #crochetlove #crochetaustralia #handmade #crochetmandala @ Merrylands, New South Wales, Australia
